Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
I noticed that the earlier pics have the hood pins so it would be the V8 Supercar however I saw Tasty's GT is in the same location on the show car as well. Looks like the identical wrap on both cars.
If we do get this livery in game wonder if all the GT's will be on it????

OK... For those that came in late...STONDKIWI wrote:how did u get gt on the car?
Triple 8 put together a car as the wildcard entry for Bathurst. With Microsoft and T10/Forza connection with Skaife they sponsored the car. M$ and T10 finally gave the Aussies a chance to get a gamerpic (and the Yanks are still pretty pissed they missed out, lol) and with that an entry to get your GT on the car. 1000 GT's were picked and stuck on the bonnet.

Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
TO get entry to the draw you had to dwld a FM5 GT logo ( that red/white one you now see a lot of gamers sporting), from a link posted on Xbox dashboard home page.
I assume you also had to load the pic as your GT Pic, good branding as ere was a shitload of them.

I recognise that track layout and is that a Holden logo on the wheel?
The next lot of cars have been announced but no Holden on the list yet... Looks like the GTS that was DLC last time around?

Cool find.
The centre wheel emblem is a HSV, and the wheel itself looks like a VF, but then again the centre console looks like a VE rendition. But Im not that familiar with the interior. Any takers?

Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
The new controllers are powered by battery and a new "play n charge" kit is also ready on Day One. The cable is USB, comes in the kit and charges while you play. But while you play and charge the wireless connection will swap to wired. To my knowledge the USB connection to the controller is not proprietary like on the 360, but just a micro USB. Might be handy if you have a spare cable from another device like a phone.RU four 86 wrote:

Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
[rant] I really don't want to be that d*ck that bad mouths a game before it comes out, but really?
Thus far we have no GT cars... One month out from launch...
You can't really call yourself "The Flagship Simulator". Especially when coupled with your failed attempt at damage/fuel consumption/tire wear in the previous title. Not to mention failing to including staples for racing simulators like customisable pit stops, Aero repair as well as failing to incorporate a functioning penalty system and the inclusion of "Sticky Grass" to deter off road racing, which I might add is in some of the stupidest spots imaginable, Incremental weather, different tire compounds, failing to include downgrades to cars, naming cars in the blatant wrong category (Porsche GT3 RSR being classed as GT2 for example)... the list goes on for your short comings.
Drivatar was in Forza 1, then you took it out for some reason. Sure the cloud is a big innovation but it's not a new idea.
We don't care about auto vista. 'Most' people will look at it once then wonder why they used 'x' billion gigabytes to render this useless cr*p.
Completely unrelated to the game, but please get someone who can actually drive to do your promotional work. This is probably the reason we have so many retarded people in public lobbies, immersion into a skilled environment will raise people standards... It's been proven.
On the plus side. The menus look nice, and the way they were talking about the tire's they might actually be addressing tire wear. Also the spelled Dan Greenawalt's name wrong, which made me smile.

Completely agree with you, I feel like forza is slowly moving towards being a casual/arcade racer. Every new iteration the main focus is on the new casual aspects that are being bought to the game, infact we don't know all that much about a month away from release. It seems to me that t10 don't really care what the established fan base wants, but more about how they can attract the more mainstream gamer which equals more $$

and Hillcrest, they didnt listen????? ummm Bathurst
I will be waiting till i see it and play it myself, but i have no doubt it will be a great sim driving/racing game much more refined than FM1-4.
Sure it wont have pit strategy and weather but we've got along fine without it and will be fine with whatever they throw at us.
I must agree on the walkthrough/showcase thingo, in FM4 for me it was a one time look never to revisit ever again but some peeps love that stuff so good on em.
anyone else notice the cameracopter in the holden/bathurst vid? looks like some cool replays might be coming, even noticed the Gopro sponsorship banners in game so maybe some attention has been given to this.
PLS PLS PLS no more controller users making screeching tires sounds all through the replays!!

Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
As we become better drivers we want more in the game, better physics and more "hard-core" race features. I get that and I also want that. But why ditch all the "arcade" stuff like Autovista and the assists. Remove those to make it more hard-core and see a large amount of gamers head off to Need For Speed or Grid... T10 are also there to make money, why the F would they start up a game studio like this if money wasn't a factor.
They are adding more to the game that the hard-core want. Open wheelers, Bathurst and what they are saying is a better tyre model. Weather and night racing would be cool. Here is a question... If wet weather was added how often would you race in the wet? I would love to see night racing return but would rather see some of the other issues of the last game fixed first.
I would love to get my kids involved in Forza and as it is with all the assists, etc they will have fun racing and in time learn to remove one assist at a time and become a better and faster racer. The progression many want (and this is all over FM.net) is that 5th time around we should be good at driving so ditch the arcarde crap and give us the sim racer we want. For someone new to Forza they should not have to start at the beginning with FM1. They should be able to grab FM5 and start there. Forza has always been available to all levels and even those with disabilities limiting their driving skills.
I am over it. I will be on FM5 when it comes out. I will still have an assist or 2 on like I do now. I will still use a controller as my M$ wheel will not be compatible on the ONE. I will continue to paint as well as race. The few that do join me on FM5 will be able to kick my drivatar's butt. I am pretty damn excited with what we will get next month so nothing more said to change my mind will persuade me to take another path. Playstation4? Have enough crap here as it is, lol.
FM5, see you there!

Maybe when all the haters that are here now bagging FM5 leave for a better world, or staying in the past with FM4, OZFM may return to its former glory and be a place mates want to hang out and enjoy each other company, oh and have a race or 2 on FM5.
So if you don't like FM5, I guess I wont be seeing your drivertar while I am driving around Bathurst!
(mind you I am not looking forward to driving with sticks and buttons while they work out if Fanatec will work or not, or I just buy a new wheel. Mind you most of the so called hard core racers use these so maybe that is the future... cars being driven with sticks and buttons... oh it just does not feel real... lol)

Don't get me wrong, I'm going down the xbone path purely for the forza series and I'll definitely get fm5. Things like including Bathurst and Spa is turn10 listening but those two tracks have been the most asked for tracks by the community since FM 2, it just seems that it takes them 3 games to actually do something that the community is asking for. I think that it is possible though to make forza accessible whilst still retaining the hardcore elements and I believe adding things like weather and night racing would actually attract more of the mainstream casual crowd

Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
I'm looking forward to FM5, as being a bit sceptical and even annoyed early with Xbox1 I have learnt a lot more and realised that it's the community of Xbox, Forza, here and a few other things that I like so much about it, it will be awesome and I to look forward to driving against those and there avatars from this forum, even after my longish rest from FM4.
I also realised it's the people that make the game great and those who you race with and against with most being from this forum in the past, cheers
Bring on Xbox1 and look forward to racing with you's that do on the mountain, and other series once again, even if it is with a controller for awhile.

Also I caught the end of a conversation one of the guys from XBONE Racing was having with someone saying that the car/cars won't be in the game until may. I hope what he meant was that COTF won't be in until may but we still get the old V8Supercar from launch.
