Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
It's definitely the GTS that was DLC before.surferofthemind wrote:I recognise that track layout and is that a Holden logo on the wheel?
The next lot of cars have been announced but no Holden on the list yet... Looks like the GTS that was DLC last time around?
Also I caught the end of a conversation one of the guys from XBONE Racing was having with someone saying that the car/cars won't be in the game until may. I hope what he meant was that COTF won't be in until may but we still get the old V8Supercar from launch.

I released you point the phone at the TV and press recordDazza4610 wrote:I just pointed the phone at the tv. I do have it recorded, so I will try and post up a better quality one soon.RU four 86 wrote:Hey dazza, where in the hell did you get to video a lap of Bathurst on ya phone!
For the record, these pre-release posts sounds about the same as when this forum started and FM3 was a couple of mths away, lol
RU
I then assume it was on 7's telecast, if so bugger I missed it!. I thought you were somewhere when someone was playing the game and you whipped out the phone to snap it.

Wow. careful on the knee-jerk defence mechanism surfer. I didn't mention anything about less assists. I only started issues from the last game I hoped they would address so they would in my eyes stand up to their self proclaimed simulation title. Being only a month out from release we know very little about the game. They have very minimal info on cars, and while yes they are releasing info on cars weekly. I'm yet to see much that we could possibly make a series out of.

It is over a lot of comments not just here but also on FM.net and elsewhere. With that info everyone is starting to make assumptions, post them up, and make others worry over their purchase of a new $700 game and machine. And with our small community I see this as the dived we don't want. I know some will stay on FM4, some will try another racer but many are moving forward (soon and not so soon).
38 days to go for both a new game and new console. I am not surprised with the lack of info as I am sure both T10 and M$ would be flat out making sure we get both on the day. I think we should be posting up information as it comes to hand rather than assuming what we will not get. The concerns over the Fanatec wheels I think is justified as these were a big purchase like a new console. I do hope a fix can be made for this.
As for making up a race series I am sure we will get plenty more cars that will make a great series. The track list is already a winner so with the cars already in I can see heaps of possibilities. We have been promised at least 2 V8 Supercars on day one so V8's are a given. Indy, classic F1... Something to get us thinking of what to run once we are ready to race.
Simulation, Hardcore, Assists, etc...
This game is well, a game... A race simulation made for the console and a very broad audience. This is how I see Forza. I will never be that iRacing kind of player, don't have that kind of dedication, time or money. Forza is still that kind of game that is easy to just leap into for some fun, not just for serious racing. Plus the community we have really brings this game to life.

It's great to see that they have already ruined it by putting tire walls across the run off at the esses

Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
I might be a glass half full kind of guy, but this is good news for Fanatec IMO. He talks about modular, and giving wheel manufacturers the flexibility...not running out to buy a new wheel just yet.
Might have to just drive a car using sticks and buttons for the first few weeks while Fanatec or someone works out an adapter.
At least if we are all using sticks and buttons to drive a car there should not be any "oh this doesn't feel real" (of course it doesn't feel real, we are driving a car with sticks and buttons FFS).

Yeah I will be waiting also on the Fanatec wheel situation, remembering that the Fanatec wheels are not just xbox 360 wheels.. Day 1 controller lets roll.

The new Windows 7 will do this, that, faster, better, hype hype.... but wait, you cannot use your old XP USB H/Ware, no fancy mice, keyboards, scanners, did I mention printer and external H/drives, nope they won't work either!. What about my photocopier, pressure tablet, speakers, nope they won't work.

Sorry to hear that bit about non compatibility, a real bummer for those that coughed up some serious dough to get their rig.mad DANNO 29 wrote:
On another note that 'Mad Catz' wheel looks good. I like the swapable wheel possibilities for different cars, as well as being able to adjust pedal settings such as dampening and width between for our larger feeted folk. I'm hoping that level of adjustability also includes a clutch.

Re: Forza Motorsport 5 - What we know so far.
so the new unbelievable functionality and flexibility of the new technology wont run the old technology.........
computer says no.....
seems a bit short minded, looks like a partnership deal that went wrong being leaked to the masses if ya ask me.
What a sh*t decision.
So whos going to be the first to do the aftermarket plug in.

Keep in mind Teeroy, a lot of the tech from Xbox original didn't work with Xbox 360.TEEROY 34 wrote:so the new unbelievable functionality and flexibility of the new technology wont run the old technology.........

I'm not sure what those acronyms mean, but i'm assuming you are implying that they work on current gen computers and as such should work on the Xbox One?
