GTA V - Discussion

Im in the same boat as teeroy. have not had any major drop out issues since online release except the 1st day when the cloud servers fell ova..

Only issue i have had is when hosting a private session.. if im in a job and then backout the other players dorp back to out to public sessions and have to rejoin my session ..

apart from that its been pretty smooth sailing..

Find private sessions so far is a good way to level up your xp.. and not have little 10 yr olds run u dont every 10 seconds ..

I know this is a dedicated forza site. but will there be a section for gta 5 ?? as i dont see it dieing out for some time .. ?? just a sugestion ??

Also if im online.. and someone from ozfm wants to join in .. feel free to join my session if u are playing solo.. more the merrier.... as i have it open for the crew and my friends list..

I am going mental trying to get online to work. I've sat through the intro movie crap three times now.
I get to the race and it bugs out at "waiting for other players" or "starting session" or it just sits me in the city without being able to move and nothing happening.

Just have to keep trying.....

Was told last night if you delete the update and your character file then try again it "should" work.

If not just keep resetting and trying to do the first race

Yeah - I found those tips too. Also apparently starting online in "Solo" mode can help.
The only issue with deleting the update is that you can't delete a single update in the xbox, so from what I've read it deletes updates for ALL games. Major pain in the backside.
I have tried deleting the character which at least got me out of the bit I was stuck in, but it's still not getting through. Tried this morning and it couldn't even connect to the online servers at all. Maybe they are taking them offline to fix/upgrade?? Here's hoping.

Yes you can OD. We are talking about the title update. Go to your xbox settings --> storage --> hard drive --> games --> gta v --> Title Update. This is the one u want to delete. Don't delete ur games save files. After doing that start up gta V (it will download the update again) single player --> press start --> select the "Online" tab --> select "change character" --> delete that character. Worked perfect for me. Got me into that first race. Only issue I had then was that at the end of tghe first race after winning, it stayed on another screen. Dashboarded and jumped back in with no further issues.

Cheers mate - I must've misread the advice I saw. I'll see if the new update fixes it. If not, I'll go through this and try again. :-)

Update worked - all good now.
I had a bit of a play around, won a race and a couple of death matches.
I will hopefully jump in a session with some OZFMers some night soon.

Just a heads up for those who want to make some good quick cash.. last nigght after some crazy death mathing with recoil and a few other ozfm'ers. i jumped out and got a call from Lester.. he asked if i wanted to do a job " A Titan of a Job " was the title..

was basically a drive to the Main air port and had to hijack a meryweather hercules plane and fly it to the air port in the middle of the map.. was not a real hard mission.. be the rewards were 10K cash and 1150 rp .. nice mission to do a quick restart.. mission took about 6 mins to complete .. did that a 4x in 30 mins ended up with a nice 40 after it..

It is not one of the vote missions.. u have to have lester call you and give u the job or u can call lester.. if he dont send u that job and another opne.. delete it out of your job list.. wait 2 mins and call him again..

Next time im on and i get that same job.. i will send out friends invites if anyone is up for some quick cash.. if im correct it was a 1 - 4 player mission ..

nothing like watching your crew member terrorise the locals from the comfort of your own living room ..

me and don had a good run the other night and I had like 50K in about an hour or so
hmm hope to get some time tonight after my sons baseball game finishes around 6.30
I wont be on til late though

not sure of the name....but had to fly to the army base, blow up all the jet fighters and steel the big arse chopper.....only a 4 man mission and it took us a few goes, as the base was full of soldiers....no tanks thank god.
Finally got it by stealing the biggest army truck and smashing into the jets. this ment all the base was attacking me and let the others sneak in to get the chopper.
