Re: Project CARS
I take you you're going to purchase the game when it comes out. What will you play it on PC or xbox?
I've decided to update my graphics card to an overclocked Radeon 6870 as well as purchased a power supply able the handle the power requirements. I'll play and enjoy forza on the box and this on the PC.

Re: Project CARS
Thought of going for a GTX580? The MSI Twin Frozr is the one i eventually want to get, heard some very good things about it. Very low temps and power consumption with awesome graphical output.
Then again, next year will have the 6xx series (well, most likely anyway).
And Mcrow, try Bandicam, its a pretty decent recorder.

hell yeah im buying it when it comes out, i love it already, and its only a pre alpha build. if the physics are the same on the xbox as they are on the pc version (i can deal with graphics that are a bit dated) then ill get it on the xbox.
and Envy, thanks for the tip, ill give it a go when i get a batter lap around Spa.

No need. I was geting 30 fps on my old card with middle reselution with everything turned to medium. I could play it but it was a little ugly and slow at times, especially with the completed tracks.
Now I have it max resolution/ max settings every bell and whistle turned up to ultra and i'm getting 50-60 in car and 80+ with exterior view. And the game looks a million times better.

Re: Project CARS
Just wanted to step in and say I've paricipated in Project Cars for some weeks now. Became a Full Team Member to allow me to actually get the real game when it comes out with no extra charge. I think Full Team Member cost $30.
This game to me is absoultely amazing in Graphics, Sound and Physics. I was blown away when the latest build came out supporting Full Day-Night circulation in real-time (I think) or adjusted to fasten the effect up!
Driving @ Bathurst in the night, stars everywhere and just your headlights is breathtaking!
It's also the little things that count such as: movable suspension & steering arms, full driver movment (legs move from brake to accelator, clutch etc) and the fingers twitching as the driver waits for you to hit that throttle! I also love the fact you can remove the steering wheel on any car.
So far this game is looking up, sadly the limited amount of cars isn't attractive but I'd rather a lower amount of cars with as much attention to detail on each!
There is also a test track which every simulation game should have including FORZA! It consists of a Hillclimb, Skidpad, Sweeps and Bends, Oval, Drag Strip etc.
This game is truly amazing and it's still in Development and the fact that the World contributes to it's process will mean it will only be just short of perfection!

Re: Project CARS
Just be warned: with the new lighting update some of the tracks now crawl. I can only get an average of about 25-30 fps now. I hope some optimizations come. Still have no idea how they are going to do this thing on the ps3 xbox.

If anyone is sitting on the fence regarding this - I'd suggest doing something sooner rather than later...

Just signed up for full member. I'll be getting a game when it's done. Who knows what'll happen but it's only $40 or so.

For those of you using higher end Nvidia cards apparently uninstalling the 3Dvision drivers are giving quite a significant FPS boost to this and many other games.

Re: Project CARS
How do I check for 3d vision? BTW the game has been optimized a lot and it runs well on my pc now. The shadows are the best I have every seen in cokpit views. Well worth the money.

its almost worth the hassle of dual booting my monster Mac ( 3.5g Quad core, 16 gig ram, 2 gig graphics, SSD ) the shame of putting windows on it. lol

Re: Project CARS
the vid's posted here seem to be of just hot-laps. has anyone been using CARS for racing other cars? that could make a significant change to the FPS. i'm curious as to how this will go. if i get it it'll be PC. i find it pretty hard to believe that a console processor could come close to the power required to do simulator perfect physics. a console version would have to be seriously cut down.

Re: Project CARS
They dont have multiplayer yet, but you can run with heaps of ai if you wish. I have run with 20-30 ai with no difference in fps. That being said, the ai is really dumb at this stage.

thanks Crimson, good to hear it's running well with so many cars. personally i'm not really worried about the AI as this would be an online haunt for me.
