Re: 2014 V8 Supercars
Speed Cafe wrote:“In addition to the two radars on pit lane, two timing lines, separated by five metres, are at pit entry,” (Damien) White wrote in an explanation of the system.
“The timing system does a time over distance calculation, and if the average speed in that distance is greater than 40km/h then a breach has occurred.
White meanwhile dismissed suggestions that the right-left chicane at Winton’s pitlane entry could have contributed to the situation.
“Both lines are completely parallel, and both are contained in the straight line of the pit entry,” he wrote.
Ummmm... If anybody else watched last week's telecast as closely as I did, you'll remember Larkham running down to pit entry to point out where the lane begins and where the timing sensors were in the road.
The first sensor was about a meter or so past the white line marking the beginning of pit lane and the 40kph speed limit. The second sensor was five meters down the road, after a right hand bend and before a left hand bend. Hypothetically, if one was to cut the right hand bend and slightly shorten the distance traveled between the two sensors... you get the point.
Unless good ol Larko pointed out the wrong lines and markings in the bitumen, or I looked at the wrong ones, then I'm totally wrong. But if not, then it looks like young Damo could be lying.
Anyway that's all irrelevant, because apparently the cars that got done for speeding were done by one of the two radar guns along pit lane. I wonder if that's the truth.

AZ style restarts scrapped, 2013 spec safety car restart procedure reintroduced.
About time v8sc swallowed their pride and admitted they made a mistake.

Re: 2014 V8 Supercars
Channel Seven’s V8 Supercars anchor Matt White is set to return to his old stamping ground.
White will return to Channel Ten in July after confirmation surfaced in Sydney media that he has resigned from Seven.
The new deal is sweetly timed to co-incide with Channel 10 winning back the rights to V8 Supercars in a share deal with Fox Sports from next year...........

All we need now is for them to say that they have signed that douche Tom Williams to talk about how pretty the clouds are.NoRecoil wrote:Channel Seven’s V8 Supercars anchor Matt White is set to return to his old stamping ground.

The only good thing about it is that we won't have to listen to him for the rest of the year
