Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
I can not find the bit it says that the fanatec is not going to work... I completely understand the ms wheel not working, how old is that? Why would MS spend money getting a wheel working that cost about 150 new 6 years ago?
Anyway, I guess I might be holding on to something that is just not there... Will just have to gain the full sim effect of the triggers and buttons to drive while I work out what wheel to buy.

Sorry, just delete what you don't like...
Not really having a go at anyone in particular, I guess I am having a go at MS and Fanatec for not understanding there are some people out here that would like to drive forza with a wheel and 3 pedals on day one...

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
Well, that sucks For everyone who has paid $600+ for their fanatecs. I really hope they do a 3 pedal setup for the Xbone. Looks like it's not going to happen though. At least you can use the wheels on PC. Any word whether they work on the PS4?

Yup it should they say all wheels that work on the PS3 will work on the 4... shame there aren't any decent racing games on the ps4.

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
(just copied something ive said in another thread - similar conversations here)
Its hard to admit it, but after much reading on various forums and websites on how much of a step up XB1 is compared to the 360, ive recently concluded that our expensive yet beloved Fanatec units are now last-generation in gaming controllers. Realistically, Fanatec have been using the same technology for a long time now, albeit a few upgrades here and there. Xbox 360 was indeed a (large) upgrade of the original Xbox, but it essentially still carried the same technology. XB1 you would have to say is all new from the ground up (think of the Commodore upgrade from VZ to the VE in 2006 perhaps to put it into perspective).
It will be hard to part with - especially with how much money we parted with (for me, twice) for a Fanatec product, but if gaming is going to be that superior on XB1, I shall bite the bullet and say welcome to the new generation of gaming.

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
Theres no Sim exclusive racing game coming for the PS4 as far as i know with GT6 being ps3 and drive club not being a sim . So the only new Sim exclusive is FM5 , so if this news doesnt change True sim racing (High end wheels/Pedals/Sim rigs) in the next gen is in very bad shape indeed as theres nothing on the PS4 and no one wants to throw there expensive sim rigs in the bin and buy another one for FM5.

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
Not sure if this helps....but at least some adapters are being made...hopefully once the xbone is released the other manufacturers will be able to release info on what they are doing.
IGN wrote:Hoping to use your current-generation gaming headset with the Xbox One? You'll have to wait until next year. According to a press release issued by Turtle Beach, Microsoft's headset adapter won't ship until "early 2014." The adapter, which was announced earlier this year, will allow users to connect headsets that use the Xbox 360's chat cable to the Xbox One controller's proprietary digital audio port. Without the adapter, players will still be able to access in-game audio via the console's optical digital audio port, but chat audio will have to be routed through the Kinect.
The news comes alongside Turtle Beach's announcement that it will release its first wave of Xbox One headsets in Q1 2014 and that it would be bundling Microsoft's Xbox One headset adapter with existing headsets. What remains unclear, however, is how much the adapter will cost when sold separately.

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
Um ^^^, there new blog/forum that Dazza has linked above has a fair bit of new stuff including new rims set for release, (3), all for the CSW but kinda hoping they will be compatible with the XB1 wheel when they make that at least the F1 rim anyway.
This link should answer all your questions on Fanatec and XB1. http://www.fanatec.com/forum/discussion/85/xbox-one-compatibility-faq-and-poll.

This looks amazingly like a PS3-4 rim, those buttons, Triangle, Square, X, and R1.R2 buttons..

Come clean with what though? Microsoft screwed them over in the search for more money. Thats literally all there is to it, and now that new wheel has me worried Sony did the same thing.

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
They are some awesome wheels thats for sure. Clearly PS4 is the new platform of choice for them. Looks like I have a $600 paperweight called an Xbone... yeah I'm going back there I'm bitter about having a console I can't play... I'd buy Madcatz but where is it? Ohhh Gamesmen have it for $750 pre order! lol ffs... States it's $400... might see if I can swing it through Priceusa.com.again...

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
I'm thinking Fanatec will release a Xbox1 wheel, and I think some of the pictures you have been seeing on there blog of the new rims and here will be available for the Xbox1 wheel when they do.

Re: Fanatec compatability - Xbox One
Daz: Thanks something to think about I guess...
As for X1 support Fanatec say "And we are not done yet..." but it's pretty clear that they are going down the PS4 route. I'm guessing they will announce either Clubsport Wheel base or a new wheel base fully supported by PS4 not just G25 compatible like PS3 very soon. I don't think we will hear anything from X1 any time soon because if we were they'd be hinting at it quite strongly given all the cr@p they are copping over x1 support at the moment...
