Re: 2013 V8 Supercars Discussion
Red Bull Racing Australia has launched its V8 Supercars campaign in traditionally extravagant style in Eveleigh, Sydney this morning.
The two cars were revealed by team drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes in front of a large crowd, including V8 Supercars dignitaries, media, sponsors and celebrities.
The cars will compete in identical liveries aside from the windscreen banners which will see Maverick on Whincup’s car and Autobarn on Lowndes’s Commodore.
The deal for the energy drink giant to enter the sport is a multi-year agreement, replacing Vodafone as the major backer of the reigning champion team.
Red Bull Racing tested last Monday at Queensland Raceway in a plain black livery. It was the first time that the team had tested the new Holden Commodore VF.
The #1 and #888 Red Bull Racing Australia Commodores will be seen on track for the first time at Sydney Motorsport Park this Saturday.
Besides the two V8 Supercars Championship entries, Red Bull will also back the team’s Dunlop Series program for Casey Stoner.
The livery of Stoner’s car will be revealed on the Wednesday prior to the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

It's the best livery by far.
And there is no bias from me just because they are my favorite team.

Well the real interest from me is whats going on at DJR?
Forgetting the fact Dicky has no money, Pace havent sold him a chassis and no-one else will. I cant wait to see what they rock up to SMP with.

Well not by far.
The Lockwood and Supercheap cars would be a close second.
That is no BS about being bias or not.
The Red Bull is the best IMO.
Also I thought DJR were getting cars from FPR and having technical support from them aswell.

Re: 2013 V8 Supercars Discussion
Erebus Motorsport has unveiled its brand-new Mercedes-Benz E63 AMGs at a launch event in Sydney Olympic Park this evening.
All three of the team’s entries for Lee Holdsworth (IRWIN Racing), Tim Slade (HHA Racing) and Maro Engel (SP Tools Racing) were unveiled at the cocktail function.
The Erebus E63′s feature an aggressive V8 Supercars bodykit, sporting the company’s own variant of the end-plate rear wing designs seen on the Ford Falcon FG and Holden Commodore VF Car of the Future variants.
The Australian GT Championship squad has taken over the Stone Brothers Racing operation this season after sealing a Customer Sports deal with AMG in Germany.
While granted a license to use Mercedes-Benz badges on the cars, the Erebus team receives no direct support from Mercedes-Benz Australia.
The cars are powered by a bespoke 5.0 litre V8 Supercars version of the Mercedes-Benz M159 engine seen in the company’s SLS GT3 race cars.
The Mercedes-Benz V8 Supercars will make their first public appearance on Saturday at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Fair enough dude, but its a blue car with corporate logos and a silver and red stripe. IMO, Supercheap is the goods.
Also, as for Djr, this sounds good. I still cant wait for SMP test day.

FIRST PICS: Tekno Autosports reveals testing liveries
Tekno Autosports will compete in the pre-season V8 Supercars test at Sydney Motorsport Park in a pair of one-off testing liveries tomorrow.
New team signing Shane van Gisbergen will drive a VIP Petfoods-backed white Commodore, complete with large yellow and black paw prints on his all-new Commodore VF.
The team’s second car for Jonathon Webb will feature a special ‘Police’ livery, promoting a new initiative from the New South Wales government, encouraging road users to obey 40kmh school zones.
Webb says that ‘Project 40′ is an important matter to him and his team.
“School zone speed limits have been around for many years now, yet the public still aren’t paying them enough attention,” said Webb.
“We’re proud to be associated with this unique road safety campaign, and to be partnered with NSW Police in reinforcing this very important message.
“This is something that resonates strongly with me, as I have school-age nieces and nephews. We also have to do 40km/h in pit lane, so if a V8 Supercar can do it, you can do it on the road too!.”
For van Gisbergen, the test marks his first time with Tekno and new sponsor VIP Petfoods, who will back his entry in 2013.
VIP Petfoods owner Tony Quinn says that the livery is a great way to kick off the relationship.
“We have taken big steps in partnering with TEKNO and Shane for 2013, and this livery is a dramatic visual demonstration of this,” said Quinn.
“In taking these steps, we were very mindful of making a clean break from the past, and showing the V.I.P. brand in a fresh, new way. I couldn’t be more pleased with this special test-only livery.”

Dick Johnson Racing:
DICK JOHNSON Racing has today confirmed rising star Tim Blanchard as their first driver for season 2013 – and their sole representative at the official pre-season V8 Supercar Test Day in Sydney this weekend.
We are thrilled to announce we have signed Tim Blanchard for the 2013 Season. Tim is an exciting young driver and we can't wait to see him hit the track at Test Day tomorrow!
Putting the loss of major sponsor, Jim Beam, and recent speculation about the team’s future behind them, DJR confirmed the 25-year-old would line up in one of the famous Queensland outfit’s FPR-developed Falcon’s this season.
More details to come.
