Yep, That's most likely. Also Cooldrive distribution as Tims father owns it.NoRecoil wrote:

A Different Beast:
Those at last weekend's preseason test wondering whether it was just their imagination or if the new Mercedes E63 AMG really did have a different sound can rest assured they were onto something.
The unique higher pitch generated by the Erebus Motorsport cars at the test were due to the flatplane crankshaft used in the AMG engines.
Erebus has been cleared to use the crankshaft by V8Supercars and the main difference between the flatplane and the crossplane (which Holden, Ford and Nissan use), is the shape.
The flatplane (like the name suggests) has the crank pistons lined up in a straight line, whereas the crossplane usually has two of its pistons aligned at 90 degrees to the other two. This formation allows the flatplane to have a lower rotating mass, resulting in a sharper rev-response.
The alignment also affects the firingorder and rhythm of the pistons, which is ultimately why the AMGs had a higher pitch sound on Saturday as opposed to the familiar rumble of a V8.

I wonder if he was taking the piss on the commentator for the NZ V8s, watched round one on the weekend and the commentator must have said "wats link" 50 times. "Oh I think he has damaged his Wats Link"... "that side to side rubbing will damage his wats link"... "??? needs to pit and fix his wats link". Maybe it was Matt White with a NZ acent. lol

Re: 2013 V8 Supercars Discussion
Steven Johnson has confirmed he will not drive for his dad’s famous team this year, making way to ensure Dick Johnson Racing can be on the grid at this week’s Clipsal 500.
Johnson has stepped down from driving to help manage the team and allow a new driver to take his seat in the second DJR car to join Tim Blanchard. The second driver is expected to be announced in the next day or so.
Steve told James Phelps of the difficult call in an exclusive in today’s Sunday Telegraph.
"It was a really tough decision because I would love to be out there driving a V8," Steve said. "I wanted to be on the grid, but let's face it, I'd much rather see the team succeed and have a future than me being in the car.
“I could have gone on, but the team's future would have been in doubt."
Steve revealed it was his dad to tell him the news.
"It not all just about me," Steve said. "It really killed dad to tell me that I did not have a full-time job in the car. He is as disappointed as I am, but at the end of the day I would rather do this than see the team collapse in six or 12 months."
Dick Johnson faced weeks of uncertainty over the off-season but now look secure following the arrival of new sponsors, including Steven stepping aside.
"It has been a battle but we have come through," Dick said.
“It is unfortunate for Steven, but he has done the best thing for the team. We have things in place that will ensure a bright future for this team."
Steve will be a sought-after endurance driver with a good history at Bathurst and could continue his career in another category, Phelps wrote.
After beginning his full-time career with DJR in 2000 when his Dad retired, Steve has been appointed as general manager of Dick Johnson Racing.
"I am a driver but this year I am moving into a managerial role," Steve said. "It is a bit sooner than expected, but it is a challenge I am looking forward to. We want to consolidate the business and be in a strong position in 12 months.
“There are positives in all of this because I think I can take some pressure off dad. He has been under immense strain and I can take on some of that now."

Dick Johnson Racing today revealed another part of the team restructure by confirming New Zealand born driver Jonny Reid to a full time seat for the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship. Reid is no stranger to racing in Australia and was the stand out performer in the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Championship winning four rounds of the series. The new signing joins Tim Blanchard, another young charger, who like Reid has raced successfully in open wheelers in Europe in their early careers. Team owner Dick Johnson believes the signing of two young talented drivers begins a new chapter for the DJR team.
"We were impressed with Tim Blanchard and he tested well for us last week in Sydney. With Steve stepping down we had a number of younger drivers in our sights and Jonny was the stand out." Johnson said. "He has raced in a multitude of classes all over the world and has had great success. We saw him as a perfect fit. With renewed and enthusiastic sponsorship support we can really work on bringing these two blokes to the front of the V8 Supercar grid." Dick concluded.
At the announcement of the deal Jonny Reid commented, "My aim since 2011 was to focus on a full time V8 Supercar drive. This is a world class series and after a great run in the enduros last year I was very hungry to try and step up. To be able to begin my fulltime driving with a DJR is fantastic. I have got to know Steve well and we spoke at length at the Bathurst 12 Hour." Reid said "Once we knew the deal could progress and Wilson Security came on board the #12 DJR car it was full steam ahead. I am really looking forward to rolling the car out at Clipsal." Reid concluded.
The Dick Johnson Racing team heads to the Clipsal 500 with the Wilson Security #12 to be driven by Jonny Reid and the famous DJR #17 Advam Falcon to be piloted by Tim Blanchard.
Looks good, hope to see them in the 10 at clipsal

Thats the single most boring VIP livery EVER.
Looks like someone attacked the from end with MS Paint filler option on last years equally boring livery.
Why they didn't go with this is beyond me:

Re: 2013 V8 Supercars Discussion
To be honest i think this years designs have been a let down as a whole apart from the occasional eye catcher - they just look a bit bland this year with no where the level of small detail lines.
The Pye livery looks like something chucked together at the last moment.
FPR looks confused as to wht color to go with.
T8 amazingly boring, took someone with a real stroke of genius to come up with that one.
HRT got confused an chose to use every bad part of every livery from the last 15 years.
Even dalberto's car is a step back from last year.

The castrol predictor should let you guess the following too.....
What will Matt Whites obvious opening statement be the race starts?
"The age of a new dawn is here"
How long into the first race will it take Matt White to reference to Whincup?
"Before they leave the grid"
