Gamespot are biased since they now have an app on the 360 dashboard and are the only games site to have it as far as I can tell. Not saying I disagree with them cause I have not played the entire game. But I doubt they are completely objective either

Dtoid, the only game "news" site i trust with slightly more salt grains than most, gave it a 9.

And meh, its just a review, most of the time they have no idea what they're talking about since they're not always "into" the kind of games they're reviewing, making it unreliable.

Yeah, the gamespot review was pretty light-on. Didn't go into it much, and even when it said there were issues it didn't really explain. Too much footage straight from the intro and demo, and not much of the rest.
I'm still looking forwards to hiring it and having a bash when it comes out.

Those complaining of high grip levels on dirt, I think you'd actually be surprised how much grip there is available in real life. I'm not saying its 100%, but, in an Evo the representation that they've built is exceptional. Only complaint i have is I was struggling to hold a slide as long as I would have liked.

Can't wait to explore the other area's of the map. Should be good fun.

Love the enthusiasm sumo but as to the dirt grip level? let me just say in my opinion, no. No the grip level is not even remotely realistic.. maybe in acceleration but definately not in lateral g's and i've been on dirt in awds with rally tyres on also Smile game should still be fun though

After driving the Mercruiser on Tuesday nights... I think the handling physics in FH is spot on. Hanging out for next Tuesday night, might have to lag out of the OSCCs Razz Just Kidding!

Should organise an "event" for Thursday the 25th for FH. No idea what the event could be yet, assuming of course we can jump on and 'cruise' around at the very least...

I'm up for a coop speed trap. That looks like too much fun!

Reminded me of a night with Clarkson in Dirt 2 I think it was trying for hours to do tricks over some jump.,

I heard somewhere that there is a compound for the drifters to strut their stuff. That should make some around here happy.

Well Forza Horizon is actually a lot of fun. I got a heap of free cars because I have Forza 4.

Anyone have any questions about the game?

I write reviews for www.xboxworld.com.au.

Some initial notes:
You start the game like the demo with the race against a Viper and Ferrari. After that you begin the game in a 1995 Volkswagen Corrado VR6. You a led around the first few events and you will end up with a Ford Mustang Boss 239 if you 'attempt' the Mustang vs Mustang race, a 1992 Bugatti EB110SS (the first Barn Find) and your choice of a Subaru WRX STi or Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X.

The Horizon Festival has a ring-road at it's centre that acts as the game menu. Around the ring-road is the Marketpace, Paint Shop, Garage, Auto Shop, Race Central and Car Club (already created an XBWA Club). You can stop at each area to enter it.

On my first trip to the Garage, I was gifted the following for being a loyal Forza supporter:
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe,
2011 Mini Cooper S,
2011 Citroen DS3 Racing,
2012 Dodge Charger SRT8,
2008 BMW M3,
2012 Jaguar XKR-S,
2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, and
2009 Gumpert Apollo S.

Painters now get matte pain in every colour. The paint menus now list Standard, Metallic, Matt, Special, Manufacturers and Recent Colours. You can also choose to paint doors separately like you can paint your bonnet in Forza 4. You can now paint your wheels 'actual' white. I think there may be a couple of new decals but not many.

Upgrades are similar but there is no Drag tire compound, only Stock, Street, Sport and Race. Rim choices look unchanged. From what I can tell, there is no Tuning even if you equip parts that you can tune in Forza 4.

Has the difference in driving on dirt compared to tarmac changed in the actual game compared to the Demo?

It feels the same to me but it's interesting that a Rally Pack is in the works which has 'deeper ruts' and 'more surface types'. That really should have been included with the game in the first place.

lol sounds like they've already had feed back about the similarities and have decided to do something about it with the rally pack. Good to see. Wondering if they are going to build on the existing roads or expand the map further?

Matt with carbon... I can see a lot of dry carbon hoods on cars in a weeks time, lol.

As for vinyl groups I have heard that it is not an actual transfer like from FM3 to FM4 but a link to your FM4 vinyl groups folder. And if you add a new vinyl group to FM4 it should automatically pop up in the FM4 folder on Horizon. Info from ARMIPOTENT ADAM. Adam was another one of those lucky guys with a green disk... As a painter he is over the whole driving around to the paint shop, he wants to go directly there at a press of a button. But he is enjoying the rest of the driving and I get the feeling he has the hots for Ramona... tongue

With the clubs some one with a green disk grabbed APEX before Adam got the chance to take it for us. I know a drift team was after it so it looks like one of them got in first...
