I will get Rachel and her sister to try and grab OZFM and 0ZFM if they are still available on Tuesday night when I get home from work. Although I was thinking OZFH could work better...
Hopefully we can have co owners like in fm4.

Re: Forza Horizon General Chat
Another difference from FM4 is that Rivals Mode is now integrated with the game rather than a separate mode. You would have seen it with the Demo, when you finish an event you are now given the options to race it again as a Rivals challenge.
Driving to the central hub to access the menu is a pain, but you can fast travel there.
There is way too much flashing up on screen. You earn points for just about everything and anything so the game is constantly telling you about it. Thankfully you can turn these notifications off and it only pops up when you reach a milestone.
I turned off the music and the GPS voice pretty much straight away. The musicis mainly crap is awesome and the GPS is very annoying and not helpful.
Challenging other drivers on the road is pretty cool. You may be on you way to an event and get passed by a Ferrari for example. Drive up behind him and you are given the option to race. Then away you go.
The sounds in general are just as good as FM4 as you would expect but there is one odd off-road sound effect that sounds like a record crackle no matter what speed you drive at. Other than that, sound is great.
The graphics are awesome!

With the challenge thingy... are the other cars on the road automatically set to be equal with your car? Or are the hamstrung in some way to make the race equal? So, if you're cruising along in your VW Rabbit and a Ferrari cruises past can you challenge it? Will it automatically kick your arse? Or, does the game slow the Ferrari down to make the race "fair" (but stupid)?

From what I've seen, you are the one who initiates a challenge by running up from behind. I highly doubt you going to be able to get behind a Ferrari with a totally less powerful car. and If you do manage to do it, it will tell you how hard the challenge will be and I'm guessing there are more credits/cash/kudos/popularity whatever the heck they call it if you win.

This sounds a little like the NFS autobog thing, and I think dirt has had online leaderboard for career type events so you could compare your single player game results with your friends straight after a race. I think this might just convince me.

Yeah, the challenge is as you see it. So if you are in a Mini and he is in a Ferrari F40, you will get toasted. I think these races are the most fun out of the lot, feels like pulling up at the traffic lights!
Re: Feeling the difference between dirt and tarmac, it is way more obvious when using a wheel over a standard 360 controller.
There's no telemetry so if you are having wheel/pedal issues, you won't be able to check it on screen. Likewise if you upgrade the shit out of a car and make it undrivable, you cannot tune it to make it more controllable or adjust final drive or individual gear ratios.
Changing cars is a pain as once you choose one that fits the event criteria, the only way to change it is to go back to the hub road garage.
Barn Finds come quick and fast in the beginning then slow down a bit. You have to wait until you get a location on your map before you can find one. From what I can tell, you can't just drive around to set locations where you know they are.
Photogs are going to have a meltdown...There are soooooooo many unique locations to take your shots, not to mention different times of day.
Replays look crap though because every camera angle has that shaky-cam effect.

Re: Forza Horizon General Chat
My choice has been made.original skin wrote:Some initial notes:
You start the game like the demo with the race against a Viper and Ferrari. After that you begin the game in a 1995 Volkswagen Corrado VR6. You a led around the first few events and you will end up with a Ford Mustang Boss 239 if you 'attempt' the Mustang vs Mustang race, a 1992 Bugatti EB110SS (the first Barn Find) and your choice of a Subaru WRX STi orMitsubishi Lancer Evo X.
Get the 'Stang and sell it because this isn't a fishing game (Boat reference).
Win the WRX and win some races...
Use cash to buy FR-S
????
Profit!!!
Annoying...original skin wrote:The Horizon Festival has a ring-road at it's centre that acts as the game menu. Around the ring-road is the Marketpace, Paint Shop, Garage, Auto Shop, Race Central and Car Club (already created an XBWA Club). You can stop at each area to enter it.

On my first trip to the Garage, I was gifted the following for being a loyal Forza supporter:
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe,
2011 Mini Cooper S,
2011 Citroen DS3 Racing,
2012 Dodge Charger SRT8,
2008 BMW M3,
2012 Jaguar XKR-S,
2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, and
2009 Gumpert Apollo S.
Good to see a mix of cars. No Aussie's spotted as yet though...
Looks like i'm going to have a Jap' dominated garage again.
This has made me a little more excited than is socially acceptable...original skin wrote:Painters now get matte pain in every colour. The paint menus now list Standard, Metallic, Matt, Special, Manufacturers and Recent Colours. You can also choose to paint doors separately like you can paint your bonnet in Forza 4. You can now paint your wheels 'actual' white. I think there may be a couple of new decals but not many.
Have they got aero that does anything other than look awesome (occasionally)???original skin wrote:Upgrades are similar but there is no Drag tire compound, only Stock, Street, Sport and Race. Rim choices look unchanged. From what I can tell, there is no Tuning even if you equip parts that you can tune in Forza 4.

Top man, now you need to set it to invite only, and the first invite will need to go to Rachel (OZFM).
Once we get it all sorted we can open up the doors and take off the invite only for a while to make it easier for others to join quickly.

Done. Let me know when Rachel plays for the first time then I can invite her in, I can then have my way with her and then open the club up.
