FIRST PICS: DJR reveals white Jim Beam livery
Jim Beam Racing has revealed its return to a white based livery for the remaining rounds of the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship.
After competing with Jim Beam’s ‘Honey’ and ‘Devil’s Cut’ brands on the #17 and #12 cars of Steve Johnson and Dean Fiore respectively, the team has reverted back to the traditional white base. Johnson’s car will carry red stripes, while Fiore’s car will feature gold.
The DJR team revealed its new look at Queensland Raceway today, ahead of its first test day since the pre-season test at Sandown.
Operations manager Scott Jennings says that he is pleased to have the Dick Johnson Racing Falcons return to their traditional colours.
“It’s a nice, fresh look for Jim Beam,” Jennings told Speedcafe.com.
“I really like the look of the cars. It’s a clean look, and hopefully they go as good as they look.
“I think they look fantastic and It’s good to go back to the white of Jim Beam because they stand out really well.”
Good job DJR at stuffing up these livery's as well. I would be embarassed to drive a car that looked like that

FIRST PICS: Triple Eight reveals first ‘real’ COTF
Triple Eight has taken the wraps off its army-inspired Car of the Future Commodore VE – the first genuine COTF chassis.
The new chassis was photographed last night and will get its first hit-out in anger after the Coates Hire Ipswich 300 at Queensland Raceway this Monday.
The unveiling of the car makes the champion Holden squad the first V8 Supercars team to complete the build of a new-generation car.
With some technical regulations are still to be finalised and teams waiting for a number of control items to become available, this car does not meet the final specification that the cars will compete in next year. However, it will allow the team to begin development work on certain aspects of the car.
It is expected that some of the other accredited Car of the Future builders will begin to roll their first COTFs in September.
Triple Eight’s first COTF is one of nine new cars the team will build between now and the start of the 2013 season. The team is also building Commodore VFs for Tekno Autosport and Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport.
The T8 chassis will be on display at Queensland Raceway over the course of the weekend.

The first Official test for the COTF is this Monday so what's the problem?

Triple Eight confirms multi-year deal with Red Bull
Triple Eight Race Engineering has confirmed that it has reached an agreement with Red Bull Australia to support its V8 Supercars team next year.
The champion V8 team and the leading energy drink company announced today that they have agreed on the key commercial terms for the naming rights sponsorship in a multi-year deal.
Red Bull will replace Vodafone, who announced recently that it will end its six-year association with the team.
Triple Eight team owner Roland Dane says that he is pleased to have a deal close to finalised.
“We are thrilled by the prospect of Red Bull becoming our naming rights partner from 2013 and are confident that the deal will be finalised in the coming weeks,” Dane said.
Jason Sargent, Managing Director of Red Bull Australia, added that it was a huge coup for the company.
“Given Red Bull’s successful history in motorsports, we are very excited to form a partnership with Australia’s leading motorsport team,” Sargent said.
Triple Eight and Red Bull will not make any further comment on the matter.
The deal will end the team’s association with Monster Energy Drink, which began with a personal helmet deal for Jamie Whincup in 2009.

FIRST PICS: Holdsworth’s new-look IRWIN Falcon
Lee Holdsworth’s IRWIN Tools Ford Falcon FG will take on a new livery for the next two V8 Supercars events at Sydney Motorsport Park and the Dick Smith Sandown 500.
The #4 Ford will act as a mobile billboard for sponsor IRWIN’s Tools celebrations around National Tradesmen Day on Friday, September 21.
Holdsworth’s IRWIN entry will feature more yellow, as well as the company’s National Tradesmen Day logo.
This year marks the inaugural National Tradesmen Day.
IRWIN Racing’s Lee Holdsworth is pleased with the look of his race car and the initiative to elevate the role of Australian tradesmen.
“Like everyone else, I’ve seen some of the great work tradies do everyday, in fact most of my closest mates are tradesmen.” said Holdsworth.
“Plus in the motor racing industry we like to surround ourselves with skilled tradespeople to ensure the best results.”
“Carrying the special livery over the next two events marks what will be a great day and something I encourage people to be part of .”
To initiate this annual celebration for tradesmen, IRWIN introduced a logo to give ‘National Tradesmen Day’ a distinct graphical icon.
The IRWIN Tools National Tradesmen Day livery will be seen on the IRWIN Racing at Sydney Motorsport Park (formally Eastern Creek) on August 25-26 and the Dick Smith Sandown 500 on September 14-16.
In other Holdsworth news, Lee and wife Alana welcomed to the world their first child, Ava. Born last Thursday (August 9), Ava and new parents are all travelling well. Speedcafe.com wishes them the best in their new adventures.

Bali linked to V8 Supercars event
V8 Supercars continues to work at increasing the number of international events on its calendar, with the Indonesian province of Bali the latest destination to be linked to the Australian championship.
According to a report from The Daily Telegraph, authorities in Bali have garnered funding for a permanent race track near its capital of Denpasar, which it hopes to have operational by 2014.
The track is said to be chasing events for both the V8 Supercars Championship and MotoGP World Championship in time for their respective 2015 seasons.
The Daily Telegraph quotes an unnamed V8 Supercars source confirming that initial discussions regarding a Bali event have already taken place.
“The category has met with representatives from the proposed circuit,” said the source.
“They are building a track, which is about an hour away from Denpasar. They are looking at a large investment and have targeted V8 Supercars to be one of two major global racing categories to put the track on the map.
“Obviously V8s are very appealing as Australian’s are very important to their tourism market. It will help them push their message.”
The proposed Denpasar circuit would join the recently upgraded Sentul International Circuit as one of two locations in Indonesia licensed to run a V8 Supercars event.
The category has been chasing a race in South East Asian for some time, with the hosting of an FIA Asian Zone member at last year’s Armor All Gold Coast 600 fuelling widespread speculation of future locations.
