not to mention i cant even find how to turn off auto transmission. and the auto sucks arse as it is.
Gameplay setup - go to the second screen (where you see a picture of your controller or wheel) and the auto option is on that page. No idea why they put it there and not with the rest of the options...
oh and the drifting, WTF? they said it uses the same physics engine as the racing. bullshi#!!!!!! anyone notice that even if you dont steer and are sliding, the car automatically counter steers for you (look at the wheels).
haha yeah - I was hating it with the wheel but with the controller half the time I could do a damn fine drift just squeezing the throttle and not even touching the wheels (ie no countersteer?). And if it's the same physics engine why do none of my cars drift in normal races when I floor it on a corner. Felt weird being able to put my foot down coming out of a corner in a RWD Lambo and not have it swap ends.
thinking of selling the game for 50 bucks to get at least some of my money back.
haha, yeah I remembered that I saw Dirt 2 as an ex-rental for $15 yesterday so I went looking for it when I dropped back NFS. Unfortunately it had just sold this arvo. Bugger. Now that's a fun game!

Interesting how people's opinions can differ on the one game.
I have found the game to be pretty good, sure it's hard to start with but once you get your wheel/controller settings dialed in on a stock car it becomes really good and easier to drive ecspecially when you start tuning and upgrading the cars, the swaying motion/floatiness you guy's are feeling is wheel controller settings incorrectly adjusted imo. I am using no assists as well.
Have had some really good races around bathurst, and helmet cam is different but once again adds to the overall game experience.
Sure it's no forza but the next best thing imo and it will tie me over untill forza 4 gets here. Now off to get some nitrous action, gotta love that.

Re: Need For Speed Shift Unleashed (2)
biggest problem Ive had so far is the massive lag spikes...
Ive enjoyed the game to dat, was awesome thrashing around the mountain with the guys on Saturday night, hada ripper of a race with Daz, we would of been no more than 20 meters apart the whole race, then on the last corner had a random lag moment lol....
Has been good fun so far..

Puttz, that was intense. each lap I had just enough nos to get up on the limiter to let it bouch all the way down conrod, only to be caught in the chase. I think I had you over the top though. Such a great ride when you get the esses right, the dipper is harder than it looks.
I cant even remember what cars we were in... might have been the AE86 or was it the Camaro, or the...I know it was some beast. We drove so many cars from Heli's garage. LOL.
I am stuck on the last couple of drift challengers, then I can get back to "Real" racing.

I've really enjoyed the game so far....
I have encountered the issue that I suck at drifting So I'm glad that there's the ability to simply skip the events...

Re: Need For Speed Shift Unleashed (2)
It seems the majority of issues lie with the PC and PS3 version. IS that true?
I have been playing shift 1 demo and really enjoying it. Once I bumped the steering deadzone up a bit, I found the cars don't float all over the place with the ms wheel.

Re: Need For Speed Shift Unleashed (2)
I like the idea of the speed wall.. would have been good if that catagorized it into class's. the same as forza..
so they have b class times c class and so on..
Wondering if anyone had issues with there online pass..
As i activated the pass but never got the 10K and nor was i getting double the XP..

Re: Need For Speed Shift Unleashed (2)
Thanks Dazza - I spent some time with the AI on the Mountain - they are pretty terrible...
Autolog's speed wall is pretty cool - just like a personalised leaderboard.
I definitely agree with Don, in that it would be much more effective if it was class categorized though... It basically negates all of the lower classes the way that it works at the moment.
I don't think I had any problems with the online pass (I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't get double XP). It did take me a while to figure out that I had to go and buy the cars for 0cr though

Re: Need For Speed Shift Unleashed (2)
To true frank.. the times should catagrized..
Being sorta new to wheel racing im finding im using lower classed cars to get a feel for the wheel.. so i set times and then want to compare if i get better or not with my times with the same classed car.. lucky i can still do it with forza..
As when i went from controller to wheel i noticd i lost quite a lot of time.. 4 - 7 secs slower on the wheel.. but slowly picking it up.. Possibly i need to play with wheel settings ?? as i do find i dont have to press the accelerator ( 1/4 throttle ) for it to rev out.. finding it hard to hold the revs at one spot.. In forza anyways..
Frank did u get a bonus 10k when u activated your online pass..
as when i activated mine.. i had something along the lines of 2.5k in credits.. when activating the online pass.. it said u get 10k cash and double XP for 24hrs..
after that i checked my credits and it didnt change..
i guess the double XP would have helped me along seeing i suk a$$ at racing with the wheel..

To those guys who have the game. For quick race I can only select one track. Do you get more as you level up? Or is it a massive cockroach of a bug?

So to change tracks you have to click a instead of left-right? How strange seeing the arrows are left right lol BTW I found a way around the remapping the buttons bug if anyone is interested.

I thought that was just me not confirming changes properly - what's the solution?

Re: Need For Speed Shift Unleashed (2)
Power up the game with the wheel
Go to options.
Go to adjust options where you change buttons.
A few will be unassigned and this is why the game is not letting you save your changes options.
While still in the game, pull the power from your wheel and reconnect with a wireless controller.
Just change the unassigned things to buttons on the controller you never use with the wheel. Left Thumb/ Right thumb button/ Right thumb up/down/left/right.
This gives enough buttons for everything to be assigned and then it will let you save the configuration. The trick is putting the stuff you never use on the buttons that do not exist on the wheel but do on the controller.
The wheel/controller support and documentation is really lacking with this game. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to do a simple button remap.
