Nice! I have that lens - it's great. Very clear and allows for some great photos with feeling of space like this:
I don't have a flash (yet). Really want one though. My next two purchases are a flash and a macro lens.
There are some great books on how to use flashes. I have one called "The HotShoe Diaries". Lots of good info (although it is Nikon based).
This looks like a good one based on Canon equipment.
Do you have a starburst filter aswell? Looks like it from the Melb night shot - looks great.

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
no filters where used on the Melbourne shots, except a UV one to protect the lens. found some new settings in my camera that make the photo look better without editing it in photoshop.
and thanks Reaper and Sleuth

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
so i went outside to empty the bucket from my shower, and i saw this little fellow out of the corner of my eye. so i grabbed my camera, my 55-250mm lens, and my new flash and ended up with this. absolutely stoked at the outcome.

haha - yeah, spider webs in the wind are a real son of an unmarried woman. That shot's great. Very nice and sharp. Pretty sure it's an orb weaver, but there are lots of them and I don't know which one it is.
Get a polarising filter for your 10-22mm. You won't regret it!

Hey nice work Mcrow!
getting the sky shots down pretty good buddy, they look great.
The boat one just needed to be a bit darker on the water to see the boat lights a bit better, good shot
HOw much is a polarization filter?

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
Was that lens and early self birthday present?
Very nice - I have lens envy! My 28-90mm is getting one of the dreaded Canon errors which basically means a loss of comms between the camera and lens or the lens is jamming. I'm pretty sure the latter is true.
Anywho - some great photos there and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Chris
