Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
thanks mate, some of the other ones i have are not so good
most of the panning shots are with my 100-400mm lens, the wide angle panning is with my 24-105mm lens. and everything else was with the 24-105mm as well.

this waterfall is near Marysville, which was in the middle of the fires from black saturday 2 years ago. you can see the tress are regrowing up the top of the waterfall.

I only got about halfway through, but some amazing shots mcrow! Fav so far is the tilt-shift shot at Southern Cross station. Was that done with a lens, or post process?

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
Hah - thats what happens when I get impatient and only read half a thread!
I've played with the blur effects on Elements (I don't have CS) to try and recreate a tilt effect, but not with results as good as that though.
Mind you, when it comes to anything graphical I struggle with stick figures! Give me 96 channels of audio, a huge-ass desk and rack of outboard gear and I'm right as rain though... you damned visually artistic folk!

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
my 7d is no more
went photographing Toorongo Falls, on the way back i found a good little spot. took some shots and wanted to get lower, which meant putting the tripod into the river. about to take a shot and the tripod fell over, lens first into the river
the lens (canon 10-22mm) and body are both fuc^ed. i can see water in the lens and the camera will not turn on. time to go buy another one when money permits.

Man that sucks.
Also I've had memory cards go through the washing machine and there still alright so hopefully your card should still be good.

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
i hope so. ill track down a data recovery place. i put the card into the memory card reader in my pc and nothing happens, so its corrupted.
and my favourite lens is now dead the canon 10-22mm has water in it, i can see it. its pretty funny actually
seriously considering going grey imports for the replacements. works out to be $800 cheaper.

Have you looked into getting it repaired? There are some pretty good places that can fix these things. May be worth it for high quality stuff.
