Looking forwards to mcrows attempt, but I reckon making sure the blur doesn't go over any of the racers would be a good start. Keep them sharp and blur out the crowd and trees. Should look ok.

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
Love that star rotation in the top one, but the rocks in the bottom make for a great foreground. Nice clean photos for a 3min exposure!
I have some cool shots from my old film camera doing like 2-3 hour exposures. I wanted to do longer, but the batteries kept running flat and the shutter would close. argh - need to go to the old manual cameras with no batteries!
cya,

would i be cheating if i told you that was photoshopped in? haha! not the rocks, the motion blur.
but thanks guys, going back tonight, im hoping for some more clouds, this time in the sky and not just above the horizon.

here are tonights efforts. im having a hard time getting rid of the flare in the second one though, i have no idea how to clone it out (or even what the best way of doing it is).

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
hehe - leave it in and call it a "feature".
(an old programmers joke - without a manual how do you tell the difference between a bug and a feature?)
You could try using the band-aid thingy (healing brush tool), but I reckon it will be pretty hard going/fiddly. So, leave it in and enjoy it.
I reckon that first one could do with some more exposure on the rocks so we can pick out their features a bit more.

Dunno about once in a lifetime - I saw a blood moon about 4 years ago or so.
Great photos though - love the one with stars. Are they real stars (from a seperate photo) or are they just white arc lines drawn in? Looks good either way.

yeah they are real stars, just 2 photos blended into one. one 4 minute to get the trails, and the other one i copied and pasted the moon into the star trails one.
