mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1

Love the Eagle's Nest one - really nice framing with the rock formation casting a harsh contrast with the soft curls of coulds. And it doesn't matter that you couldn't catch the sunset clouds you wanted as the rocks are glowing a colour that hints at what is just out of shot. Nice!

anyway, heres 3 from the weekends outing. couldnt really do much with the one of the dam wall, it was raining and overcast. its a bit dull and boring, but if i do anything to spice it up it ends up looking unnatural, so i only edited it to make it as good as it could be.

you may or may not notice, but these shots where taken with my 550d and not my 7d. reason being is i didnt want to lose another 7d to water damage.

first of many from the Phillip Island v8's this weekend. edited this one specifically because it marked a new high for me when using shutter speeds. managed my first shot at 1/25 shutter speed. its so hard, and im so happy i finally got one. pity its 2 fords though

ok time for some special ones. the first one has had nothing done to it to give that effect. it is straight out of the camera (contrast and exposure have been edited), and i have no idea how it happened. pretty cool though.

and now this last one, not the best shot from the weekend, but its my favourite. Jonathan Webb's sponsor is Tour De Cure, a charity that aims to raise money for cancer research. you may or may not remember that my aunty passed away a couple of months ago from breast cancer, and with the sponsor and the rainbow right on top of the car, i thought it made a very unique photo.

whats up guys??!!?!?!! long time no post, since august last year i think. sorry for the sudden exit, no notice or anything, i was just sick of OZFM and forza at that point. I needed to get away from it, so I disconnected myself completely. anywho.....nothing much been going on, I've quit my full time job (OHS officer turned up still drunk from the night before, nothing happened, so off I went), and I am now looking to do a plumbing apprenticeship. of course thats not my first preference for my career, I still wanna be a pro photographer one day.....one day. but I need something to fill in the time right?

dont think ive forgotten about my photograhpy either, been doing a few workshops, one of them being a motorsport one at Winton. the guy was a pro motorsports guy, huge amount of tips. and for a bonus I got to use his Canon 1DX with a 400mm f2.8 v2. god damn it puts my 7d and 100-400mm to shame lol. anyway, less talk, more photos.

welcome back mate, nice shots

Went along to the ADGP event on saturday, hoping for a great day of taking photos, only to be surprised that the only spots you could take photos from where pretty crappy spots. but i did my best, all shots shot with a 7d and a 100-400mm lens. thank god i had the reach of the lens, it filled the frame wonderfully. I had so much fun panning for such long periods of time, it was pretty much right to left the whole day :p

yeah, we started it last year but he lost interest, but now for some reason he's back into it. we'll see how it goes, but im not holding my breath to see if the page takes off or not. im hoping it does, as i do wanna become a professional photographer (well i technically am, as ive done paid work already), but do it full time. oh wells, the more likes the better!
