OZFM V8 Series X

The OZFM V8 Series 10 will be run on Tuesday nights over 7 rounds and 14 weeks from 19/08/14 supported by the Ruffle Cup.

Round Format
Rounds will take place over 2 weeks, with qualifying and the support races on the first week and racing on the second. Lobbies will open at 8:30pm Melbourne/Sydney/Hobart time with racing starting at 9:00pm.

A round will be either a sprint format (3 races), a long format (2 races), or an endurance format (1 race). Safety cars will only be available in the long and endurance format rounds. The same amount of points will be on offer per round

Lobbies will be filled in a cascade method, this ensures that lobby 1, the top lobby will always have 16 drivers.
Drivers in lobby 1 will place 1st - 16th, lobby 2 17th - 32nd and so on. Lobbies for qualifying will be set by the previous weeks results.

Points
Drivers will be competing for both the Drivers and Teams Championship. A Drivers best 6 results results will be counted towards the Drivers Championship. Teams must run the same car and may consist of up to 2 drivers, however, teams are free to run separate liveries. A dropped round rule will also be in effect.

The Cars

The OZFM V8's will feature the stock VE Commodore and FG Falcon V8 Supercars plus added Race Brakes and Race driveline. Drivers can tune their cars as much or as little as they wish.

Safety Car

Safety cars will only be avaliable in the long and endurance formats. A safety car will only be called if two or more cars have sustained damage as the result of an incident. Waved yellows will be in effect from when a safety car is called, drives may continue to complete the lap at full pace, however, overtaking is not allowed. All drivers may pit(if there is mandatory pit stop this pit stop will count as that). Once the lead car crosses the finish line that car will become the safety car and must matain a speed of 100 km/h. Once the entire field has caught up and is in the safety car train the race will restart at the start/finish line. Drivers are free to accelerate from the pit entry, however, there can be no overtaking until the lead car passes the start finish line

*if a safety car is called replays MUST be saved for stewarding*

In order to prevent the prevalence of safety cars that have plagued recent series, but still include the safety car and the dynamic changes it can bring, there will be a new set of safety car rules for this series. A series of penalties will apply for a safety car to be called. The penalty will be handed to the driver that caused the accident that resulted in a safety car. Please note though if no safety car is called there will be no penalty. If an incident also warrants a review any penalty handed down by the stewards will be separate from a safety car penalty. Incidents that are cause by lag will see no penalty, however, repeat lag incidents that result in a safety car by the same driver will result in a review and possibly penalties

*PLEASE NOTE* Safety Cars will NOT be called in the shorter format races unless extreme circumstances warrant one.

1st offence: Warning
2nd offence: 2nd warning
3rd offence: 2 place grid penalty for next race
4th offence: 2 place grid penalty for next race + drive through penalty
5th offence: Exclusion from next round + 2 place grid penalty for next race + drive through penalty
6th offence: Exclusion from series + Official OZFM V8 Series X Crashtor Mouldynachos Award

Incident Review
All incidents will be need to be presented to either the series organiser, a race director, a moderator or an admin for stewarding within 24 hours of the incident via private message. Incidents are NOT to be discussed on the forum as this may bring the series and forum into disrepute and will not be viewed in a good light by those who steward the incident. All decisions are final
