Re: GRID Autosport
FFB is terribad. Like really bad. As in holy shit how were they allowed to release it in this state bad. Its pure simcade as well in terms of physics. More simcade than Forza but its not like they were aiming for a sim anyway, so thats ok.
That said, the visuals are really really nice, i've got it maxed out AND have V-sync on with no issues which is pretty cool. The racing actually feels like proper racing against AI rather than overtaking simulator 2014 in FM5 and GT6. Helped a lot by the fact you can qualify up the front and actually have a good time racing against AI that doesn't tend to run into you all the time.
Will post more impressions soon.

Re: GRID Autosport
Tempted to get this as a time killer over uni holidays for a decent single player career mode racing game.

Re: GRID Autosport
So i figured out why the AI feels really good, its because they exploit the really generous physics engine to the max, so they will make moves stick that you as a player on a wheel simply will not.
Probably the best part about the game is its class based racing structure, other than that (which is a pretty big feature given how badly the competition deals with such things) it doesn't do anything outstanding or groundbreaking.
It is fun don't get me wrong, but it had greater potential in my opinion.
edit: If you're on PC make sure you download the high resolution texture pack. Also bear in mind that the GRID modding community is already hard at work adding new stuff to the game.

Re: GRID Autosport
Envy, I'm getting 100+ fps without vsync and a steady 60 with vsync on. But when my GT2 wheel and clubsports are connected, the menu's seem to slow to a crawl (8-10fps). But when I jump into a race it shoots back up again. Are you finding that? BTW the AI is by far it's best feature. And I really like the handling. It is not sim and if that's what you are looking for you will be disappointed, but it leaves shift in the dust.I tried multiplayer, but couldn't see any races and got stuck in a lobby by myself. I have to look at how it actually works. Envy, you say I need a steam ID? What is this racenet stuff then? Probably a good thing I can't connect because I am still getting used to what I can cannot do.

Re: GRID Autosport
Thanks guys for ur input. AI is the thing I'm intrested in, fun, decided to go back and play FM4 career made, as I'd only did orig 6%. Just to get some $$$, now I know why, lol. U can't drive close to anything without those shitheads breaking comming out of corners??. So I need some fun until PCars is out, would have preferred to go Xbox360, as I can use the butt kicker but I read the graphics suxs compared to PC. It's only $50us on stream. Can live with a weeker FFB.
Thxs again for the info

Re: GRID Autosport
im down if yas go xbox360, still rocking my old school console here in the past(WA).
the amount of cheap games and stuff avail now is insane!!! i know its an old console but everything is cheap and refined to the level youd expect from an old console.'
let me know if yas go for it otherwise let me know if anyone is keen to run a regular FM4 steering wheel night.

Got it today, Great fun so far First thing I did was go and drive the V8 utes. I really like them, They have V8Supercar front bars, sideskirts & rear wings but with the speed you would expect out of a V8 ute.
