Anyone played GRID? Empty Anyone played GRID?

Just found this old title and DLed the demo. Seems arcady compared to Forza, has anyone here played it for an extended period of time? Feedback does wierd things with my GT2 also.
Almost considering buying it for SPA and Bathurst. And it's going pretty cheap these days

I enjoyed the demo derby side of it.....the racing was vey arcade like...and the drifting was so easy you could do a continuous drift for 10 minutes.
It was a good lead up game to forza for me as I was just getting back into racing games

traded it a long time ago before the bathurst DLC came out

have GRID and it was probably my second favourite track racer behind Forza. 'was' until i bought RacePro. i highly recommend it. it's arcadish but somehow satisfying. it's considerably better than the NFS Shift series in my opinion. you even get to drive Formula 3000's eventually.

i'm just pissed they never brought the Bathurst DLC to Xbox, Sony made sure it came out on the PS3 only.

Yeah I'd recommend GRID. I owned it and played it for a while. It is incredibly arcadey compared to forza, they are almost in different genres if you know what I mean. But if you're in to racing it is fun for sure. However, the bathurst looks to be a joke in it, not detailed the way it should be and you can just cruise through it like you're on railway tracks. - Not what the mountain should drive like at all.

i only play it for demo derby. that's pretty damn fun. the drifting is too easy and not realistic and the racing is ok but like the guys said above very arcade like. i do like the custom liveries and manufacturer placements on the cars. also there is a glitch where u cant drive every car in the game so u can never get that achievement. not good if u like to complete your achievements for a game.

Grid was mad fun online back in the day! Not sure what is left of the community now though. I think the 'official' PS3 and PC servers were taken down. Still, you will get plenty of mileage out of single player. Plenty of different cars/disciplines to race. Although it is on the arcadey side, the sense of speed and graphics are awesome IMO.

And yeah, that was BS about the Baturst DLC for PS3 only!!

Too arcade, very disappointed since this is effectively the third TOCA...

Well sort of but not really.... it's about the 7th TOCA really - there was

  • Toca,
  • Toca 2
  • Toca World Touring Cars (PS and GBA only)
  • V8 Supercars
  • V8 Supercars 2
  • V8 Supercars 3

and then Grid

Indeed, i forgot about the V8's 3, but weren't V8's and TOCA the same game just different names in different regions?

Nope the original TOCA was TOCA: Touring cars... The ones called V8 Supercars here were called TOCA: Race Driver overseas.

The original was released back in '97 on the original Playstation, and PC. V8 Supercars was released in 02 on the PS2, PC, and XBOX
