Re: Ideas For a New League
I like the event idea, Just can't get my head around by not allowing all upgrade's to that specific class OR just making then Stock for this serie's...
My reason... Is the time to tune these car's,,, You still have tuning available in stock car's(or do you maybe some but limited), Meaning you would be competative in any future GT1 stock race's beng public or private lobby's,
OR you go the whole hogg and allow full upgrade's to that specified class which again would mean you would be competative in allowable upgrade's in GT1 lobby's or specified class in the future.
Just my thought's and will more than likely sign up for it regardless of any restriction's but will wait and take a look at track selection, the rule's, car's that are available, lap length's time's and any and all finer point's for serie's before doing so...
Been biten once but not twice by not waiting to see ALL the serie's rule's. (And sure it won't happen in this event but will still wait for all the detail's first)

Re: Ideas For a New League
Yeah, I like these cars too, watched some of last years series on the box.
Far as I'm concerned the idea and the credit for this event belongs to heli, stikman and hcj. I'm just helping out.
Getting some feedback from sleuth as well, which is good.
I suggested stock build for a first race night so that other guys who haven't done any GT1 racing might get involved, but don't have to spend time on mods and tuning. What regs we might use for later races would be decided by the organisers and interested players.
Reckon for a first run we could try a few short races to get a feel for the cars. Then jump up to something slightly longer. Still nothing like the real series races.
First thing to do is have some fun and while we're at it we can see who else is interested in racing GT1 and might want to get into a series.
If thats the way you want to go with it.

Re: Ideas For a New League
Woohoo! I get credit for doing sweet F all!
I would prefer them to be kept stock tho, because as Sleuth said, even then they are still tuneable.
GT1 cars are:
DBR9's - 2
Corvettes - 4
Vipers - 3 (The only ones in R3)
550's - 3
MC12's - 3
S7R's - 3
So what have we learnt, well, we know T10 can't sort out the PI for cars properly but more importantly they are all the GT1's in the game (Tho one of the Astons classed as GT2!?)
So we could in effect have a more GT field with a couple of GT2 cars thrown in for good measure (GT-R and XJR GT, among others) Obviously this is just making things more complex but it's something to think about.
To be honest, I can't remember my original point so I'm just going to leave it there for the time being.

Re: Ideas For a New League
im loving the GT1 race idea, would be awesome. i reckon we should have the cars stock only, because they are pretty expensive to buy.

Re: Ideas For a New League
imo only GT1 class cars should race in a GT1 series, not GT2 or 3 cars. We could have a GT2 or GT3(porsche?) cup for those.
Upgrades: The supercars run all handling upgrades and they aren't cheap to buy so what's the difference?
That said i don't care if we run upgrades, i just thought it would make the cars more user friendly.
Note on cost; anyone who wants to tune their car will have to own their car in any case (and i'm not really interested in running a stock tune).

I've had a chat with RU four 86 and he will run the GT1 cars in his Wednesday room next week, thats 28th April.
Event and calendar details will be posted on RU's Wednesday race calendar after this week's event is run.
Since this first GT1 race night is a trial run we can let guys run standard tunes and probably with tuned or upgraded cars as well.
Depends how even you want the racing to be.
As for regs for a series, looks like you guys are working on that already.

Re: Ideas For a New League
Bloody hell, was going to look at cutting back to one event a week and the Wednesday fun run when time allowed, but going to be very hard to not enter this GT 1 event. Hmmm maybe one of the DBR9's.

Re: Ideas For a New League
I've been thinking of a WTCC series. The rules would be;
Max 2Lt
2WD only
No VVT or VTEC
No TCS (real series has no ABS too but that would be too hard for a lot of us)
Must have 4 seats
Min weight 1170 for FWD and 1200 for RWD
8500rpm Max for 4cyl
8750rpm Max for 5Cyl
9000rpm Max for 6 Cyl
Stock Pistons
Fly Wheel min 4Kg
Sports exhaust
Stock Gear Box
1Way LSD
Max 9"x17" wheels
Min tyre pressure 1.6 Bar
Stock intake and injection
Stock intercooler
No Engine swaps
No aspiration swaps
Most of those come from the 2009 or 2010 WTCC regulations. A lot of the real regs have to do with placements and materials so aren't really applicable, I've only included the ones I know are relevant to Forza.

Just had a thought. For those who have the latest car pack, the Mosler or the Radical could be used for a single make series.

i reckon a rivalry comp would be good, ie evo vs wrx, holden vs ford, bmw vs merc etc etc. change it every round to keep things interesting.

I like the idea of a rivalry comp. But I would really like to see a state of origin kind of comp or even some kind of team based comp.

Actually I would seriously consider competing in a Radical championship

Re: Ideas For a New League
Here are my most recent ideas that i can think of with some details of each:
Super GT (JGTC) GT500, GT300 or multiclass
GT500
2003 or 2005 Honda NSX
2008 Lexus SC430
2008 Nissan GTR
GT300
2003 or 2005 Nissan 350Z
2005 Porsche 911 GT3-RSR
WTCC
2010 Seat Leon Cupra R (minimum weight 1170kg)
2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS (minimum weight 1150kg)
2009 BMW 135i(minimum weight 1155kg)BMW
*These cars will need upgrades up to the standard of the BMW or can scrap it*
Le Mans Series - LMP1, LMP2, GT1, GT2 or multiclass
LMP1
2009 Audi R15 TDI
2009 Aston Martin Lola
2008 Peugeot Sport Total 908
LMP2
2010 Radical SR8 Supersport(upgrading may be necessary)
2008 Porsche RS Spyder Evo
2009 Mazda B09/86
GT1
2006 or 2007 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R
2008 Aston Martin DBR9
GT2
2007 Porsche 997 GT3 (upgrading may be necessary)
2008 Ferrari F430GT
2010 Spyker C8 Laviolette (upgrading may be necessary)
2009 BMW M3 GT2
GT2 upgrading guide:
minimum weight: 1145kg
Porsche Cup
Use the porsche cup cars
Radical Championship
Use the Radical
DTM
Use Audi and Mercedes Touring cars
Banger Racing (i.e. racing but bashing each other at the same time... demolition racing i guess)
Sorry for the huge post but i thought of these ideas and wanted to share them with you. I havent researched into how much upgrading is needed or what upgrading is possible on the cars. Also for a multiclass one maybe the idea of switching classes each race could be a good system to keep it even. Another idea is the enforcement of a weight penalty for top 2 placed cars.
Give me a shout out if ur interested in any of these series and i will post more info such as rules, structure, racing setups, tracks and more!

Here is some more info on Super GT:
Super GT (JGTC) GT500, GT300 or multiclass
GT500
2003 or 2005 Honda NSX
2008 Lexus SC430
2008 Nissan GTR
GT300
2003 or 2005 Nissan 350Z
2005 Porsche 911 GT3-RSR
Qualifying:
15 minute qualifying for GT500 only
15 minute qualifying for GT300 only
15 minute qualifying for both classes
Super Lap for top 10 (top 3 i guess considering there are only 8 in a lobby)
can be adjusted if necessary
Race:
Rolling Start (1sec delayed start)
1 mandatory pit stop
approx. 25 to 30 laps (again can be adjusted if necessary)
EDIT: Another idea is to have 2 races with half doing GT500 and half doing GT300 then swap for the next race. Laps would be reduced for this.
Point system:
1st - 20 points
2nd - 15 points
3rd - 11 points
4th - 8 points
5th - 6 points
6th - 5 points
7th - 4 points

Twin Ring Motegi Full
Le Mans Bugatti
Road Atlanta Full
Catalunya Full
Silverstone Full
Laguna Seca
