No, not really - the sport is run by the members in it. And FPR would only be one of X members on the Engine Technical Advisory Panel.
T8 and HRT would have members in there too.
If they add this then all they need to do is fix the soft tyre, it should last 15 laps tops

Christian Klien confirmed as Russell Ingall’s co-driver
Christian Klien has signed to drive for Supercheap Auto Racing in this year’s V8 Supercar endurance races.
Klien will partner Russell Ingall in the #66 SCAR Commodore in the Sandown 500 (September 14-16) and the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama (October 4-7) – the 50th anniversary of Australia’s Great Race.
The team made the announcement at its Walkinshaw Racing headquarters in Melbourne, where Klien met Ingall and was shown over his new Holden V8 racecar by the two-time Bathurst winner.
The former Formula 1 driver will drive the Supercheap Auto Racing Holden colours at Phillip Island tomorrow (Friday) when he takes part in the enduro co-driver sessions.
It will be Klien’s second drive of a Walkinshaw Racing Commodore, having tested Nick Percat’s Coates Hire entry in a secret test at Winton recently.
After racing at the Armor All Gold Coast 600, Klien is looking forward to get back into the V8 Supercars field.
“I am very excited with this opportunity, to be joining Supercheap Auto Racing and Russell Ingall for the biggest V8 Supercar races of the year is an honour,” Klien said.
“After the Gold Coast I was determined to come back and do more V8 races. It is a strong championship with extremely competitive racing, massive crowds and excellent TV coverage throughout the world.
“Mount Panorama is one of the world’s great circuits and the Bathurst 1000 is world-famous – it’s a must-do race in any racing driver’s career.
“To be able to take part in the 50th anniversary Bathurst with one of V8’s heroes is exciting – I can’t wait to get to the mountain in October.”

Mazda on a mission ---- Thats a link
My guess is we will see Moffat in a Mazda, DJR's move to a 4 car team would make sense if this is the case.

There go - i forgot about Teckno, thats all the cars covered though?
Every chance toyota pick up Teckno too, if mazda is going to join then toyota will, even if its with Lexus. It's very unlikely that the toyota morotsports blokes will let 2 of the biggest rivals race without them

We will never see this many manufacturers in the sport. V8Supercars have said they want a maximum of 5 manufacturers.
And yes that is correct Dazz, that Chrysler won't be in the championship for now anyway

that was funny as, i was pissing myself laughing. spewing i didnt have my 100-400 lens on at the time haha!
also, what a joke Davison is. shunting his car into another, and then losing control on the grass and taking out Whincup. saw it first hand at the track today and I was a bit shocked to see it.

On the replays it look like slade squeezed davo after he had commited to his line. I'd probably put the blame 50/50 on each drivers part.
Whincup was very, very lucky not to be T boned and seriously hurt in that incident.
Also can't wait to see some of your pics, you lucky barsted. One day i'll get down to see some racing at PI.

Yeah, i thought you have to be kidding me for the safety geese..... Even cromly said "OH NOOOO"
Davo's wipe out made me smile - a lot. makes the championship more interesting then being a two car race, bit hard to feel sorry for whingecup after his tanty at WA.
My bigger issue with davo's driving was how he hit SVG in turn 1 and almost caused a muiltcar stack.
+1000 respect points for giz to catch it

i was at turn 1 the whole race, so from where i was it looked liked it was Davo's fault. not many replays to watch at the race
and i must have missed that incident with Davo and SVG, and i was at the first corner haha! to busy trying to take a photo of GT's car

Bit lame that FPV have no penalty for holding up the field, they caused 2 pit lane bungles. Second one was Douglas and Moffat.
Dont think we have heard the last of this. RD was pretty pissed over this as T8 copped a fine for doing a similar thing last year.

Not V8Supercars but still:
Commodore Heads Back To The US
HOLDEN has announced a new export program, with the yet-to-be-launched VF Commodore to be exported to North America late next year as the new Chevrolet SS production sedan.
The new deal will see the same basis of car used by Holden in V8 Supercar racing in Australia as well as forming the core of Chevrolet’s next NASCAR Sprint Cup car that will debut at the 2013 Daytona 500.
That raises the possibility that the same style of car could win next year’s Daytona classic as well as Australia’s classic race – the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
Holden Motorsport boss Simon McNamara was quoted last week that the company was still working on whether the new VF model would appear in V8 Supercars as part of the Car of the Future-spec Commodore roll-out at the beginning of next season.
This would place it prior to the launch of the road-going vehicle, with the alternative that it be introduced midway through next year’s V8 Supercars Championship post-public launch to replace the current VE II model.
Mark Reuss, GM President of North America and former Holden Managing Director, said the news was great for all-round for GM.
“I am delighted to say that Chevrolet will deliver a true rear-wheel-drive NASCAR racecar in the SS that very closely links the performance sedan that will be available for sale,” Reuss said.
“The Chevrolet SS is a great example of how GM is able to leverage its global product portfolio to deliver a unique performance experience that extends well beyond the track and I am personally looking forward to driving it.”
V8 Supercars will make its debut in the United States next year when the V8 Supercars Championship holds a points-paying event at the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

FIRST PICS: Slade reveals new-look Lucky 7 Falcon
Tim Slade has revealed a new NASCAR-themed livery for his Lucky 7 Racing Falcon.
Slade revealed the new look at Queensland Raceway today as part of Stone Brothers Racing’s test day.
The new look represents a major consumer campaign being conducted throughout Lucky 7 stores across Australia. Further details of the competition will be revealed in the coming days.
Slade likes the look and feel of his SBR Ford.
“I’m a big fan of the new Lucky 7 racing livery,” said Slade.
“It looks very NASCAR with the logos up near the front hub and the big 47.
“It will certainly stand out amongst the other cars on the track.
“Lucky 7 has done a pretty cool design, when their new promo starts it will all make sense.”
Speedcafe.com is playing a significant part in Lucky 7′s promotion, with branding from Australia’s leading motorsport website across the rear three quarter panel off the #47 Falcon.
The new look Lucky 7 Racing Falcon will have its first race hit-out at Hidden Valley Raceway in two weeks time.
