Re: Steering Wheel stetups. Show us yours!!!!
I couldn't handle driving with the wheel sitting on my lap. Wobbled all over the place every time you used the pedals and jumping about when force feedback kicks in.
Reckon you're gonna be amazed when you get the wheel locked down on a stand of some sort.
What levels do you have force feedback set at with the wheel in your lap?

Re: Steering Wheel stetups. Show us yours!!!!
I use to have it locked down, but as i got better I dropped the whole lock down thing, it doesnt really affect my driving now (been using a wheel since FM2 was released, i got it in the bundle).
But im sure a little bit of stability would help no doubt.
My feedback i think is at 87%, i didnt like some of the full rumble effects for smaller things that gave massive rumble so i dropped it down. Any thoughts??
Will have to check the settings, havent done any adjustments, just used what i had for FM2

Gotta get a pic in here of my setup.
Trying to source a design so i can make a stand/table for the wheel.
Anyone know of a place to find something.
Cheap and easy are the requirements

Re: Steering Wheel stetups. Show us yours!!!!
well a mate of mine from NZ had an old karting chassis setup back in the days of PS1. seat and basic chassis was still there (minus the mechnicals).....only slight mod he made was the removal of the steering stalk/column, and made a mount to accomodate for the Logitech wheel he had in those days.
That would have been a mean setup!!!!.......but i dont have an old karting chassis, so bugger that idea. Meh, the old buggy seat and dodgy table works fine. Thou ill stick to building and tuning cars on a GAME rather than making wheel setups LOL

A race kart seat is what I want to use for my permanent build.
Light as, and not too bulky, so its not hard to cart around and not so hard to store. I priced one at about $140.
Then you need to make the stand to hold it all together.

Here are a couple of shots of my homemade wheelstand. Wingnuts allow to adjust tilt of board wheel attached to and loosening the bottom wingnuts allow the height of the wheel to be adjusted, as well as be folded down very compactly.

Re: Steering Wheel stetups. Show us yours!!!!
Well fellas, i got myself a handy little pickup over the weekend.
My brothers mate had a full frame and seat setup in his shed untouched for about 12 months coz his wheel was broken.
Well its now in my theatre room.
THE FRAME AND SEAT
THE PROJECTOR(Roof mounted of course)
THE SCREEN
WITH SUB WOOFER CRANKED
I reckon i should be able to get people to pay admission now when they come round to race.
Also check out this link for what we all need for racing together, these would look good with our own personal paint jobs

They look the good too, Playseat ones are ok but they have quite a few diff ones, bottom end ones are a bit light.
Only thing mines missing is a drink holder!!!
The whole cabinet the Mill Falcon is on is full of Star Wars minitures. The Falcon still has flashing lights and sounds too! After looking after it for years my son now kicks the shit outta it playing with the other ship (also in pic, on top) and it still holds together! Han & Chewie would be proud!
Yes im a nerd but i'll still kick the shit outta ya! haha
my Mrs says she never knew a nerd bogan existed before she met me.

Re: Steering Wheel stetups. Show us yours!!!!
Very impressive setup Teeroy.....prob the best thing next to a full Fanatec. Looking at it though, apart from the fact its looks stolen (LOL), the screen looks a bit too high for a racing game (i suppose its suitable for TV and movies thou...)

Re: Steering Wheel stetups. Show us yours!!!!
Thats where AWD'ers like the screen Stig !!!
Its pretty good where it is i reckon, you actually have to turn your head to see the sides of the screen but the view point of track is pretty much straight ahead (you dont really look at the top edge of screen).
I raced in a R1 car (no roof) and man does it look awesome when driving in car!! I will take a pic of it when i get some time
