Do you know how many times I have been pissed and gone outside and Crown Towers looks like that to me in real life. That reminds me of a time when I went for a sleep by the Yarra only to be woken by Mr. Plod and his stinken horse.

Yeah fez,
the guy travels all over the world filming and taking pics.
He uses some special methods he's developed nd makes it look like miniatures.
He filmed the V8s at Homebush last year, amazing stuff.
There's a link to the vids somewhere on forum (but I couldn't find it).
I think maybe Teeroy or RU posted it originally.
Good effort mcrow, you're posting some nice pics - as usual.

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
you can get lenses that are specifically designed for the effect, but they are very expensive. i used the fake way of doing it in photoshop. i just followed this tutorial.

Nice framing in those two Mcrow. Would make nice posters with the colours and reflections.
Teeroy - looks good. I love night shots at the beach. Depending on what your camera can do, taking nice long exposures on a tripod can look great as the water goes all hazy looking due to the slight movements.

thanks mate, and yeah +1 to OD's comment. tripods are essential for long exposures. looking at the EXIF for the photos you posted, my recommendations would have been to lower the ISO and slowed the shutter (ie making it longer to take the photo). gives the water a mist like appearance, and if its slow enough, you will eventually get star trails.

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
i did try them but i was too drunk to get them to work, and i had no tripod with me as i stumbled out of the camp ground haha.
will work on one.
also Mcrow i tried a tilt shift one but it didnt work out as good as i thought i will try again later, didnt quite get the right focus point

understandable

it helps if you are above the action, try to get a view point that is higher than the subject you are shooting.

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
i had a look in photoshop and did the lens blur effect, its not really the best pic to use tilt shift on. i can post my result if you want me to.

Re: mcrow5's real life photos - VicDrift Round 1
Looking forwards to mcrows attempt, but I reckon making sure the blur doesn't go over any of the racers would be a good start. Keep them sharp and blur out the crowd and trees. Should look ok.
