Painting issues.

This thread is to catalogue any cars with any problems adding decals etc. This is mainly so that others don't waste credits, or gift choices on cars with errors. Once it gets going I'll put a table up. The sort of things I am after are;

Window banners disappearing,
Unpaintable window banners,
Unable to add layers to sections other than grilles, windows, chrome work etc,
Decals appearing inverted,
Centrelines aren't centred,
Anything else you can think of that might be an issue.

This is going to be a long thread.

I don't think I have painted a car yet which is completely flawless, but I will add what I can here when I think of exact details.

Car: Abarth 500 essesse
Issue(s): square section of the right door around the door handle can be painted.
Known work arounds: what you paint in the same area on the left side will mirror on the left.

Car: All
Issue(s): Vinyls have a noticeable outline
Known work arounds: cover car with single vinyl before adding other vinyls.

Car: '73 Pontiac Trans Am
Issue(s): Top off centre
Known work arounds: Centre line is +6.00

Car: #17 2011 DJR "The Team" Falcon V8 Supercar.
Issue(s): Front grill remains red when original livery removed.
Known work arounds: Work the red grill into a livery.

Car: All 2011 Ford Falcon V8 Supercar.
Issue(s): All window banners disappear when fully painted or decals added.
Known work arounds: None.

Car: 94 Honda Civic VTi
Issue(s): vinyls bleed onto the front bumper when painting hood
Known work arounds: Do not place vinyls all the way to the edge or just use solid paint colour.

Car: '10 BMW Z4 GT3
Issue(s): Window banners can not be painted. Can only use paint colour.
Known work arounds: None.

Car: '09 Audi R8 LMS
Issue(s): Window banners, wing and other carbon fibre parts can not be painted.
Known work arounds: None.

Car: '05 BMW M3
Issue(s): When using BMW front bumper and no vinyls there is a small black mark on the right corner.
Known work arounds: Vinyls on the front can cover the black mark.

Car: #4 2011 Irwin Ford Falcon V8 Supercar.
Issue(s): Front bumper. Small blue and yellow square still visible after livery removed.
Known work arounds: Can be painted over with a vinyl.

Car: Muscle cars with after-market hoods.
Issue(s): The section that overlaps close to the windscreen can not be painted without painting the section of the car in front of the windscreen..
Known work arounds: Use solid colour for hood or have the vinyls and section in front of windscreen the same colour.

Car: Nissan Skyline GTR33.
Issue(s): When using the Forza front bumper the tow hook changes colour to what ever you place on the left side of the front bumper near the canard.
Known work arounds: None.

Car: Nissan Skyline GTR33.
Issue(s): The black section of the stock and Forza front bumper can have only half the sides painted. The front black section can not be painted.
Known work arounds: Use a vinyl with the colour: Hue-0.0, Sat0.0, Bright-0.27 to mask or just don't paint that section. Great location for an additional sponsor when masked off.

Car: Ford Focus RS.
Issue(s): Centre line on the top is way off.
Known work arounds: Centre line is at +119.50.

There's too many issues to state for me at the moment.

Car: #51 Holden Commodore V8 Supercar.
Issue(s) Cannot apply vinyl groups to rear wing as there is no section for it. You can however paint it a desired colour.
Known work arounds: Use the #33 Holden Commodore.

Game in general - sometimes when i go to load a design it will stay stuck on the 'saving content' circle.

Anyone else having this issue?

I have had that prob recoil.. not to sure why.. coulldnt load any designs on the car.. The i sent the car to a mate and got him to load a design on it and it worked fine.. he sent it back so i tied to load a design on it.. it worked after that.. not sure why.. only thing i can think is maybe the cars data save was corrupt or something ?? as after my mate put a design on it would allow me again without locking up on the loading screen.. was only the one car..

I've been having the same problem. I looked it up on fm.net and it turns out that having multiscreen enabled screws up loading liveries somehow. I turned it off and was able to load liveries but I turned it back on and has the same issue.

Issue(s): Very badly made skin, most panels are off some by quite a distance.
Known work arounds: Buy something else. If you really want to use it the plot points are -
