FM5 - OZFM GT86 Cup - General Discussion Empty FM5 - OZFM GT86 Cup - General Discussion

Post by NoRecoil Mon Nov 25, 2013 8:20 am

Tuesday night has normally be the big league night on OZFM, whether this changes is unknown.

For the moment seeings as we have no idea how broken the new PI System is (if it is at all) ive thought of Two options we can do with the current cars available that i would like some imput on.

Option 1 - Touring Car Masters
Fairly straight forward, C400 PI cars from yester-year...... However this would be better used at a later date so we know more about the game.

Option 2 - One Make with a set build.... Open to what could be used but must be:

  • CHEAP to make
  • Clean Painting Surfaces
  • Around the D class mark
  • Limited Tuning

If we find something for option 2 that works well, this could be come a permanent series listing on the forum.
If this happens then we can keep stats (fastest laps/Driver stats) for history in this category, the category would have multiple series thought out the year visiting the same track.

Discuss.... More will be added to the op as needed

I've already got my ford V8 supercar waiting for that series lol
V8 super utes are pretty affordable

Evo 04 vs wrx 04 - they both can have the exact same engine
Just checked the PI of these with just the engine mod
Evo - 473
Wrx - 472

mini's fun for a casual series.
Looking for a car to use for a serious permanent setup series so it can be revisited - i was originally thinking MX5s or Renults
It will allow us to keep track of everything....
Fastest laps on each track (quali and race) + previous podium
Each driver would then have a series of stats recorded over there career, so #of races, #podiums, # of wins etc.

Main aim - to give our major events better depth.

If it all works out fine then it can then be adapted to the V8's

Renault Megane RS 250 or 2013 Toyota GT86/2013 Subaru BRZ.

But what would I know since I don't have the game yet.

I reckon it's a great way to start the series racing since we don't really know how to get the best out if the cars yet and will give ppl a chance to get used to the game Smile

The minis Clarko used a little while back were great fun to drive, and somewhat easy to throw around and fight for position... Would make for an awesome introduction series. IMO for what it is worth. Mind you in everyone's best interest I think should not race onlineuntil I get a wheel, my drivatar is more than likely doing enough damage out there... lol

I like your idea of the MX5's simular to the series you did near the start of FM4. I think a middle of the field modernish RWD car is a logical choice just no drag tyres Smile

+ 1 to the 86's. If you took one of them at the start you've saved 30 grand already.

+1 for the 86... Grabbed this as my freebie car. Razz

I might have to miss out on the first series, but if I understand NoRecoil is wanting this to be an ongoing series, so I might find a wheel for the next season. Smile

GT86 is built and is in the club gar.... If one of the Admins could make a thread for a GT68 Cup so I can start working with Recoil and Surfer to set it up that would be awesome

How long do you guys need to set this up... I will run the Co-Op Cup for the few weeks you guys might need. Do you think 4-5 weeks to give enough people time to get the xbone and fm5, maybe some credits to buy parts etc.

I made a build with the help of Clarko. Do you want that seeing as it was his idea?

Sorry... I completely forgot about the series RU is running for the wheelers for the next 3 weeks... Sorry RU.

Maybe this will give these guys enough time to set up the GT86 Cup and maybe ditch the CoOp Cup for now.
