Re: GRID 2 - The Race Returns
Already preordered my copy!
Loved Grid 1, and have been waiting years for Grid 2. Hope it does not turn out like TDU2 did.
I have to say, and I hope I am wrong but it looks a lot like SHift 2.

Re: GRID 2 - The Race Returns
Todays the day.
Even have a play date organised with my ol' Grid 1 buddy Dogfuss.
See ya on the track some time.
I wonder if there will still be people that park across the start finish line to cause some big pile ups... lol

Re: GRID 2 - The Race Returns
Bonus... could you do a mini review once you've played it a couple of hours? I'm probably going to get my copy next week. I think you have a fanatec, how does it work with it? Is there still that grinding of the wheel common with most codies games.

It's ok I guess...
Have only had about 2 hours at it, spent most of that time trying to get a wheel set up that feels ok. Still not much luck in that department. And Crimson, it sure does grind away just like other codemaster games, the big difference with this one is, I still have not found a setting to get rid of it. Tried Dirt 3, F1 2011/12 setting all with no luck. I think I might upgrade to the latest firmware and see it that helps. I don't use the chat cable, so that bit wont worry me.

Re: GRID 2 - The Race Returns
I might have to use the 360 controller only for this one.. I hate fiddling around. At least until someone else online finds a way to disable the horrid wheel feel.

Re: GRID 2 - The Race Returns
Apparently reducing the FFB to 20 on wheel weight and 100 in game fixes up the grind

I hope to have another play in the morning, will let you know. I know I have adjusted it to a point where there is no grind, but it then has f all feedback, may as well use the controller.

Re: GRID 2 - The Race Returns
OK, bit more of a play with the wheel settings and have found this acceptable for now. At least you can drive the thing.
In Game Settings;
FFB - ON
Vibration Strength - 100
Wheel Strength - 100
Wheel Weight - 100
Wheel Setting;
SEN: 420
FF: 100
SHO: 100
DRI: OFF
ABS: 55
LIN: 10
DEA: 000
SPR: 4
DPR: OFF (this is the setting that makes the sucker grind coffee while you drive)
ACL: OFF
Hope this helps someone as a starting point. Still fine tuning now.

Re: GRID 2 - The Race Returns
Just got it today and played it for a tiny bit. It aint Forza, but I've got forza for forza lol
It is quite fun. I know the handling is unrealistic, but who cares? I wont even bother with the wheel for this one. Not worth the effort. IMHO. It is very pretty though. Looks a bit like Project CARS. But the sounds are the best part.
