Re: Formula 1 2012
After watching Singapore last night then racing the track, i'm pretty sure that either the tracks aren't 100% accurate or the physics is just....standard, run of the mill, nothing special.
Like going through the tight chicane, you can practically flat run it straight through in third compared to second that the drivers were doing in the actual race.

Re: Formula 1 2012
The tracks are definitely not 100%. Let's compare Hockenhiem, We know T10 laser scaned it but comparing it to F1 2012 they are totaly different tracks same with all of the other tracks that are in both Forza and F1 2012.
The thing with Codemasters is that they water their games down so much, they make it so every other 2 year old can play it which sucks
But in saying that it's still a fun game to play, but then again I might be a 2yo

We know...
Just as a side question... do the real F1 cars use ABS and TCS? What about auto clutch?

Re: Formula 1 2012
Yep they do this is true use TC but I guess to this day thats why they consider Ayrton Senna one of the best of all time as the way he could dance the car around corners at the speed he could go was god like because the older f1 cars had more power and less downforce less grip most of the f1 today know how hard it is to drive those older f1 everyone knows thats why most of the f1 drivers of today respect those guys cause they know how hard it was to drive cars with twice the hp and less down with no tc or anything.
But Dazza you got a point still they do use assists but if f1 drivers 20years + ago were driving cars with twice the hp and less downforce really on paper the f1 of today even without assist would be much easyer to drive then the old onesso why bring tc or any assist into it it must be a safety thing i'm guessing.
But still id like to see them take it away but f1 regs are f1 regs thats it dont matter what I think thats for all the big shots that make the rules.

Don't know where you're getting your info from but there are absolutely no driver aids/assists in the form of ABS,TC or STM F1.IWINNUMBER1 wrote:Yep they do this is true use TC but I guess to this day thats why they consider Ayrton Senna one of the best of all time as the way he could dance the car around corners at the speed he could go was god like because the older f1 cars had more power and less downforce less grip most of the f1 today know how hard it is to drive those older f1 everyone knows thats why most of the f1 drivers of today respect those guys cause they know how hard it was to drive cars with twice the hp and less down with no tc or anything.

Re: Formula 1 2012
dazza,
Traction Control was initially banned in 2001 along with other driver aids. however it was reintroduced later on i think 2005 after the last ban found that a couple of teams had the program in their ECU but "not being used"
It was finally banned again in 2008 when FIA introduced controlled ECU's.
So to answer your question, F1 cars do not use traction control.

Thanks guys...
Do they use Auto clutch, or is it like the V8s with an ignition cut switch type thingy?

Sort of. The only time they use a clutch is from a standing start which is a paddle on the back of the steering wheel.Dazza4610 wrote:Thanks guys...

Back in the old days people even manually punctuated their sentences?
I think the "Senna Effect" is a bit amusing... awesome drivers, but weird how he gets religious style follows.
Anyway check out some videos comparing laps at monaco. The newer cars are so fast it is crazy – I think most of the old drivers still around should be respecting the skills of the modern drivers, with exception of a few crazy's who are allowed to get a bit nostalgic / senile...

I personally think you could find some awesome driving / racing skills demonstrated in any era of Formula 1 / Grand Prix racing. The game changes and the specific skills that result in success vary but the best driver are always impressive.
I love to see footage of pre-aero cars from the sixties and some of the old front engined skinny wheeled cars from the 30s (?) - insanity!

Re: Formula 1 2012
Intersting read back in the thread, bit over that
But wondering if anyone is still playing this?
Be good if we could get some multiplayer going sometime or if anyone is interested in a co-op on the xbox.

Sadly doesn't seem there is much interest for this among OZfmers, Does any one know of any Australian Leauges to join and race these in a series like event?

Re: Formula 1 2012
still interest SG1 and yes you werent the only one over all the silly tit for tat earlier in this thread hence deletions etc. i just wanna race and have fun happy to with anyone like minded :-)
As for IWINNOONE's comments earlier.. 1st...ROFL 2nd... YES get the game ALOT more people use no braking line/no assists at all on f1 the game than on forza... i.e no more crutch/excuses as to why you arent number 1 on the leaderboards or in a race, if you cant get there than its only because someone else did a better job and not because they are apparantely using an assist that you arent (i think its safe to say everyone knows you race with no braking line LOL or is there actually someone that plays forza that you havent felt the need to mention this to?) ... also what works as a setup for leaderboards usually doesnt translate as a race setup so you actually have to race too, and in varying weather and grip conditions, not just hotlap.

Re: Formula 1 2012
Can't say I am no longer interested... just don't have much time at the moment. Not even enough time for Forza.
Jumped on this morning to have a look at Horizon Rally... now back to my jobs around the house before Xmas.
