Just starting
ok, so I've just got back from OS and FM4 is installed.
It got to the bit where it asked if I wanted to import my other driver (level 50) or not and I thought I'd see what experiences others have had. Is it better to start from scratch or not really?
I was also wondering about the livery/vinyl import thing. How has everyone found that to work? Should I do something in FM3 before I start doing anything more in FM4?
Any other advice or things you wished you had done at the start? (Hey, I have to get some bonus for having to wait 2 weeks longer that the rest of you!).

I just started from scratch. You can import your vinyls at any time mate so if your itching for a race there's nothing that can't wait till later

Grab your freebies OD, Import that profile.
You'll get your unicorn cars and some specials that T10 selected, if you have them in your garage. That and maybe a few credits.
Separate thing. make sure you've saved all wanted vinyl groups in FM3 before you import them to FM4. Its a one shot exercise.

What do you mean "saved all wanted vinyl groups"? Aren't they already saved? I do remember someone saying you could only import liveries - so do you mean to save them onto cars as liveries so I can pull them off again later?

No Chris, just if you have some liveries on cars, then save them as vinyl groups. You import vinyl groups, not liveries. You will grab some achievements and badges too if you import your FM3 profile... do it.
You do get another shot at importing vinyl groups, the catch is if you make any in FM4 then they will be gone after the import. It simply deletes your FM4 Vinyl Group save file and imports the FM3 one.

ah ok. No worries. I'll check my old liveries in FM3 before doing that then. I'm pretty sure I usually worked in vinyls and then imported into liveries, but better check...

I have heard peolpe saying that you can save a whole side of a car as a VG then when you import it, slap it on the FM4 version of the same car.
