I for one am confused as to how this became a big deal, i merely suggested a TT mini-comp in the same vein as these, just a bit of fun with the scrap of FM4 we have at the moment.

You can sit there doing a burnout for 10min - 20% at most. They'd be roasted on any car

I have never done a 10 min burnout on -4F roads.... dam you TCS
How does it compare to FM3? Don't believe I have done a 10 min burnout in FM3 either for that matter.

Re: Forza 4 demo out tonight.
I was just saying that IMO turn 10 are trying to appeal to the casual gamer far more than the core, or sim market.
Most of whom would never notice tire wear during the arcade type races that are predominant in the single player races, and career mode.

Don't worry Envy - nothing to do with you.
Tis a good idea, but as others said - a bit of farting around when the real deal is out in a week.

That's predominant Don - along with some of the other words you were having fun with:
- experience
- standard
- exhaust
- dyslexic
Don't worry about a spell checker - we've got your back

i layed a third gear skid for about 6min and it only weared down the tyres to about 1% !!! still heaps of fun but.
i think forza 4 has improved so much on the physics. i have a fanatec turbo s, and i can feel the cars every movement. so much more life like than forza 3.
i think the understeer is pretty damn good. i have thrashed my brothers 05 WRX at 200+k's and they understeer quite a bit at those speeds, just like in the game. but as everyone has said, if the tyre model is anything to go by, then there should be vast improvements with better tyre's.
and drifting the Mercury feels like an old car would handle.
i cant wait to get a decent car to drift!!

Could be something to do with it being a demo, since you simply cannot wear out the Zondas tires, though i dunno if that was the same as in FM3 hot lapping.

Re: Forza 4 demo out tonight.
I ran about 50mins straight hotlapping in the Zonda earlier tonight and I would say that after that long you start to feel the tires going off. Toward the end the car was slipping and sliding around on too much brake or agression on turn-in as well as early acceleration on exit. However the first 30mins felt like there was plenty of grip.
I expect it's just for the demo, Forza 2 and 3 didn't behave that way and I doubt they would make such a change for Forza 4 when everything else feels so awesome.

To be fair you are pushing the car to the edge as it is a videogame, that and for the most part you are driving at a track that is, as has been said, -4 F, at an average speed of 200km/h+ on standard road tires. Grip isn't exactly abounds and even though its a Pagani, its not a race car, so its not going to grip massively at high speed.
See thats what has me thinking they're including different compound tires for each type, like soft/medium/hard tyres for sports and racing tyres. But that is speculation.
mostly agreed, but a Pagani is designed like a race car for the road. that body shape would have a reasonable amount of downforce at speed, otherwise it wouldn't stick like poo the way it does through that series of chicanes. it feels like it's on rails in that section.
