Tonight's races will be 12 laps each.

As we worked out last week, qualifying doesn't really work for our series, so henceforth, the grid will be random.

I'll be setting up the lobby at approximately 8:20, see you there.

Oh, one more thing, I'd like to get all the cars together to take a few photos, so we'll be off to the airfield for 5 minutes or so before the race starts.

Thanks for the welcome.

I ran some more laps on Saturday and improved my times a bit.  Still nowhere near as fast as the rest of you were going on Friday night.  Looks like I have some work to do if I am going to keep up.

Goal for next Friday - Don't get lapped

Always happy to learn from the more experienced.  Where abouts should I post for guidance?  I don't have 20 posts so have not explored the forum very much as I didn't expect to be able to access much yet.  Have been using ForzaTune 6 to help me with the tuning.  I expect a large part of my performance deficiency is down to driver skills or lack of.

Car must start between 470-485 PI and can be built up to 500.  No engine or drivetrain swaps.

I picked the 2011 BMW 1 Series M coupe from the list - no one else was using it.

Upgraded brakes, springs, dampers, ARBs and diff to race.  Added adjustable aero and heavier wheels to find the PI to get the sport gearbox.  On Friday night I felt like I was in the wrong gear a lot of the time so have since added a roll cage to find the PI to buy the race gearbox.  It feels better now - to me at least.

I have used Forza Tune 6 to tune the gearbox ratios and suspension.  100% + 100% on the balance and stiffness settings.

The car is fairly heavy and on stock tyres so the limit of adhesion is not hard to find.  On broad sweeping corners I feel a little understeer and on the tighter corners a little oversteer but only when pushing fairly hard.  It will flick the tail out when provoked.

will throw a tune up and send you some notes when building it, see if I can find that little bit extra you want

Thank you for helping.  I appreciate it.

One of the guys on Friday night suggested my line through the corners needed work so have been doing a few laps of this week's track - Watkins Glen full.  For what it is worth I have managed a best lap of 2:14:5.  I doubt I could keep that up for 12 laps while racing though.
