OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Car: 2011 RUF Rt 12 S
The engine swap is a downgrade but with the extra parts it is as close as we can get to the Carrera Cup engine specs. As the car is a little heavier than the race spec a little more power has been added to take the PI to A700.
Porsche are using their own rim for 2014, so no more BBS rims. The WedsSport TC 105 N is the closest match FM5 has.
Livery:
To make it easy due to the lack of gifting it will be open to any Porsche Carrera Cup style livery, local or international. Make it yourself or grab something from the shared liveries. Race numbers will not be enforced if using shared liveries but if making your own use the same numberboard as the V8's. You may want to use the same livery or sponsors from your V8, just modify it to fit the different body.
Usual livery rules apply: No tobacco (banned in all Australian motor racing since '96). Alterations to tobacco advertising will not be allowed either (eg: "Benson & Hedges" to "Be On Edge", "Marlboro" as a barcode, etc). Nothing explicit or offensive.
If making your self (or for another member) try to use Michelin, Mobil 1 and TAG as they are the official Carrera Cup sponsors. There should be plenty of decent quality vinyl groups already shared or if asked nicely I can share the ones seen in the images below.
Numberboards:
Using the same as the V8's. Place them either side and add your race number.
Use "UPPER LETTERS 1" font for your numbers.
Colour to be as close to fluro yellow as you can (choose yellow and adjust a few clicks towards green).
The numberboard should be close to the required size. A couple of clicks bigger is all that may be needed (sized to originally fit both V8's).
It can be rotated no more that 30o (see example) and should be placed close to the top of the door anywhere between the front wheel arch and door handle.
A CAMS style sticker to be place in front of the rear wheels. We have an OZFM version shared.
For Numberboards and OZFM stickers search "OZFM".

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
I've got my work cut out for me if I need to prepare three cars for upcoming series....Im still in the process of moving in and setting crap up at the moment. V8s and Formula Ford's are all good, but excuse my lack of priority with these Porkers at the moment...

If this is being run on the same night(s) as the V8 qualifying, which comes first on the night? Race or qualify?

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
There are two qualifying sessions which are broken up by the Ruf event (V8 Qualifying Session1, Ruf Event, V8 Qualifying Session 2).

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
Thanks Mitch!
One other question - is the Ruffle cup running the same driver aids as the V8s? (ie: no ABS, TCS available, manual, etc)

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
Unfortunately Surfer hasn't been available to provide the other details for this series due to reasons beyond his control.
So for the ruff cup tonight we will be doing a simple 2 x 10 lap race with a random grid as a basic shakedown round.
Simply join a room you want to race in be it Dektra, hillcrest or myself if you have not been listed in a room for V8 qualifying.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused those not involved in the V8 Series.

Hey, just to be picky, the big banner on the homepage for this series needs an amendment. It should be "run", not "ran".

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
An apology here for hideous driving into turn one after the safety car restart in the RUF Cup. Reapr, I could see you had the speed on me on the straight, and was going to let you pass - I just totally missed the brake mark and nearly destroyed you and Semper as a result. Must've looked like a teenager in a pubic lobby....

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
was weird.... .After the first race ( which I was stoked I got a 6th place) ... I was booted from xbox live. By the time I got it going again it looked as if the second race wasn't even done.
Anyone get results ?

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
It was weird - after the first race finished someone suggested some MX-5 racing, and it looked like there was a mass walkout - room went from 16 down to 4 or 5 in about 3 seconds....a few people getting booted out makes some sense of what happened.

This ^^^
Seriously, if your not interested in racing dont stay in the session.
We only had one room because the previous quali session had around 12 cars compete across 2 rooms

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - Ruffle Cup
Hi guys,
Can I suggest that, when moving from the V8s to the RUFs, we do a quick (2 lap?) practice race? I dont know about you guys, but changing from one to the other took me a little to get used to - and might explain some driver errors (on my part at least). A quick practice might acclimatise people.
Thoughts?

I see no issues. Even if we do a 5 second roll off and add 2 laps to the length of the first race.
