Yeah I'm pretty sure that's how it will go, if you don't Q for the 1st or 2nd lobby you will be a reserve

Just curious, could I sign up if I was only going to do a few races here and there?

I keep forgetting to ask but what was the reasoning behind not slapping some fat rubber on the cars and only going with brake and driveline upgrades?

Because if you do that they become too easy to drive.Goomf wrote:I keep forgetting to ask but what was the reasoning behind not slapping some fat rubber on the cars and only going with brake and driveline upgrades?

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
Brake upgrade = V8's use adjustable brakes and stock brakes in game can not be adjusted.
Driveline = Only used as it adds no PI (or evens PI for 1 car...). Easier to police if all are using it.
Tyre width = Keeping it stock like the real cars.
Rims = Stock rims now paintable.
VF = Slightly different specs. Advantage or disadvantage? Easier to exclude.

Thanks mate. I should have realised the stock versions of the race cars were what actually gets used in real life. I'm just a pussy who needs all the extra help.

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
I think last night was great, BUT I think in order to start on time, we perhaps need to "close" the rooms 10 mins before the start so we can sort out any of the lagging issues..??
8:30pm: Room Open
8:50pm: Room Close
9:00pm: Event Start
I know by the time we got going after addressing networking dramas, it was 9:15 or 9:20pm by the time we started...the second race was cut down to 17 laps due to time restraints. The 10 mins leading up to the race start, we can use to check and nut out any networking dramas ect.

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
I've had a falling out with Holden. I'd like to change to Ford if that's ok. I can't see any reason this should be a problem but thought I should ask officially in case I've overlooked something. Cheers.

I see no problem as long as you promise to have higher qualifying times :p

Scratch that. We've kissed and made up. I jumped back in after doing a lot of laps in the Falcon and it all felt better.
My main reasons for a change were:
- excuse to bring Ford's Affinity up seeing I've maxed out Holden's.
- excuse to do another livery with a silver Asahi can theme but didn't like it. Tried redoing the Holden but didn't like that either.

Theu are twoo different cars. Falcon yoi drive from the rear....it goes a bit harder and its corner is corner exit....Commodore more settled in the front.

I thought we'd posted that you couldn't change cars mid season. But we must have missed it. As such, unless someone corrects me, you may change cars.

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
Thanks for the differences Mitch. l actually think because of that you shouldn't be allowed to change. Some may prefer one over the other depending on track and then you'd possibly have people chopping and changing to suit and that doesn't happen in real racing...that I'm aware of.
I say all this of course because I"m sticking with my original choice

Falcon turns better, difficult power down. Holden turns okay with supreme power down. My opinions

Gotta say this is a little sad. From pushing into a 3rd lobby at the start of the comp to just getting 1.5 lobbies happening...maybe. Why the loss of interest on the biggest and best series this place runs?

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
It's a long series, so I suppose people get bored, don't like Forza anymore, circumstances change, or some guys get sick of some dogey racing or lag. It's the nature of the beast.

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
Real pity. I'm really enjoying the format, especially the qualifying one week and the race the next. Not as much pressure to get practise in which can be hard sometimes with family and work.

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
Are people happy with the qualifying set up for this series? Next series in considering a split Qualifying set up, but a race every week. Qualifying any time from end of race night to Sunday night before next event. Must be completed with a series organiser / admin / mod, with a control car

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
I reckon you'll be putting too much work on yourselves to accommodate everyone. I reckon at most you could organise a 2nd set night (vote on night...don't vote if Tues is already good for you) but you can't requalify if you did poorly on 1st night. Only one session per driver.

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
If it is shared between a team then it won't be any more work than what is currently implemented

For a few, perhaps the term "best series ever" doesn't apply to anything regarding the V8's.

Re: OZFM V8 Series X - General Discussion
Personally I'd like to see some longer races, but I know everyone isn't a fan of that so what I would suggest is this
Week 1:
Qualifying
Endurance race (length: 45 - 80 minutes)
Week 2:
Race
This would see us do endurance races in the same cars in place of a support series.
The way that it would work is that it would be a separate championship with a different points table to the regular shorter format races. The grid order would be set by the results of the first qualifying session and drivers are free to participate in both or only one
