FM5 V8 Supersedans *Idea*
Inspired by V8 Supercars COTF
Car Criteria
4 door large sedan
V8 engine
RWD
Eligible cars
2012 BMW M5
2012 Chrysler SRT8
2012 Dodge Charger SRT8
2011 Holden HSV GTS
2009 Lexus ISF
In terms of the build of the cars I'm currently testing along the lines of having the cars weigh around 1500kg and about 400-450kw, full forza aero, full or limited tuning depending on what people want, and race or drag tires, depending on what people want. I'm looking to have the cars as evenly matched as possible, though I'm aware the BMW stands out by having a higher power to weight ratio as well as being turbocharged. I am open to suggestions and people are free to make changes and improve on what I've suggested
I was thinking that this could be run as a short series first up to gauge interest, maybe as a 3 round V8 hangover series/prequel series. For tracks Bathurst is a must, and a choice of Spa, Rd Atlanta, Yas Marina Corkscrew and Le Mans Bugatti. Though I'm totally open to suggestions!

Re: FM5 V8 Supersedans *Idea*
Could be intersting. Would have to see how the builds stack up though as the E63 is around 1600 kg at lowest weight. Tyres could also be an issue.

Re: FM5 V8 Supersedans *Idea*
I forgot to mention that tyres do seem like they could be an issue, Some cars seem limited at about 275 where others can go way over 300. The Lexus seems the most disadvantaged by the tyres but on the other hand can go down to into the 1400kg so has a definite weight advantage over the rest of the field. I'm trying to build the cars with a relatively even power to weight ratio but some cars may be given a buff in certain areas

Looks like V8 Superstars !!
Awesome!
T10... I think you missed a car or 2.
But your selection is pretty spot on for what they race. Good luck with it.

Are these the only ones that fit in this genre, would be fun to get a bigger list and each person their own car or 2 of each car or so

Unfortunately they are, there are a few missing like the Caddy CTS-V Sedan, Jag XFR, Maserati Quattroporte, Porsche Panemera, Mercedes E63 AMG from FM4 just off the top of my headTheSwatDx wrote:Are these the only ones that fit in this genre, would be fun to get a bigger list and each person their own car or 2 of each car or so

Re: FM5 V8 Supersedans *Idea*
So I had a play around with some builds. Managed to get the BMW, Dodge, Chrystler and HSV running similar times with power ranging from 416kw - 457kw and their weight in the 1500s The Lexus, however, is going to need to sit around 350kw maybe even less. Im already running it at 378kw at 1401kg and its running just over a second faster then the rest of the pack, its also handles way better even though it has the thinnest tyres. I'll have a play around with the Lexus build now and post all the builds in the OP when I'm done

Drag tyres
Also resulting in some of us having a supercharged Caddy that will do 330km/h down the Le Mans straight too
I say build them to a control tire width, and perhaps if possible you could have a control weight with the other cars too i.e max weight redux for BMW = 1520kg Mercedes = 1620kg so for the BMW you could use the Street/Sport weight reduction so it could be 1580-1600kg which would even up the playing field a bit more.

Re: FM5 V8 Supersedans *Idea*
I think the merc may be able to make it into the 1500kgs. I don't have the DLC so I cant confirm, but both the Dodge and the Chrysler start off a little bit heavier than the Merc and Ive both of them are in the 1500s. I don't think a control tyre width is going to work, mainly due to the huge variation between the sizes each car can have

Count the doors on it too... I had a bit of a look this morning and unless I am looking at the wrong car (quite possible), it only has 2 doors.

Re: FM5 V8 Supersedans *Idea*
Thanks guys, I wont be on tonight as Im at the missus' place but I had a play around with the lexus today. Swapped out race weight reduction for Sport putting into the high 1500s and added some power. Made it a lot more even and close to the Holden, still needs a bit of work. Building isn't my strong point especially when it comes to the tire width so all help is greatly appreciated!

Well the BMW has turbo as well doesn't it? Sounds like it when I'm racing, as that's the only one I've tried so far
