Bathurst 1000
OZFM Endurance Series
Open to 16 cars with 32 drivers.
Each car will have 2 drivers:
* 1 x Pro Driver (regular lobby 1 driver)
* 1 x Pro-Am Driver (regular lobby 2 driver)
** There will be NO Pro/Pro pairings. Only a Pro/Pro-Am pairing will be allowed. A Pro-Am/Pro-Am pairing will also be allowed. Current lap times and previous V8 series results will be referenced for those wishing to "sand bag" in an attempt to get two Pros in the same car.
Each driver must run at least one stint but no more than three stints.
Race will be run over four nights with 40-41 laps each night to make up the 161 laps/1000km. These night will be the driver stints. Qualifying will be held the week prior.
Cars will need to pit at least once each stint for tyres and fuel (plus any mechanical repairs).
At the end on the 40-41 laps that stint will be over. The next 40-41 laps will start under the Safety Car with all cars on new tyres, full fuel and full repairs. first lap will allow all drivers to return to their finishing position from the last stint and drive single file to the last corner where the race will re-start. Cars lapped previous stint can unlap them selves and return to the end of the line.
First lap will be a formation lap to sort grid positions made from qualifying then a standard grid start.
All other stints will be a rolling start behind the lead car at Safety Car pace till the final corner.
End of each stint will determine your position for the next stint.
The end of the final stint will give us our final positions and winners.
Qualifying will be done on a separate night(s).

When to run:
To be run over two night in a week. Tuesday should be one of the nights. Once drivers are sorted the second night can be set. Maybe Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.
Would like to hold the event till wheels are sorted to make it fair for all drivers.
If the event works we might try to incorporate it into the full V8 Supercar series as the final event. We could use the leaderboard to pair the drivers. #1 pared with #32, #2 paired with #31 and so on. Personally the original pairing option might be best.
Let me know your thought on this.
The same concept could be used for other endurance events like LeMans, Spa and Nurberg (when released) but could include more drivers per car.
Additional:
Gear Ratio
1st: 2.57
2nd: 1.99
3rd: 1.60
4th: 1.35
5th: 1.14
6th: 1.00
These are set by V8 Supercars Australia and used for the Dunlop Series (Pre-COTF spec chassis). They are also the Default ratios in the game.
Final Drive for Bathurst
3.15
This will lower the default top speed from 300 to 299 but it is the actual ratio used for the Bathurst circuit and what we will use for the event.
Future V8 events should also run the same rule for the gear ratios. Only the final drive will be changed. FM4 only allowed final drive changes but FM5 has full gearbox adjustability. Those clocking 300km/h at the Chase without drafting may be seeing the stewards...

No sign ups just yet. Still in the planning stage and seeing if it will actually work. More for the interest and comments right now.Dektra wrote:Dektra signing up. Not sure what group I'll be in
As for groups... It looks like almost all the OZFM crew on FM5 have run a stock V8 around Bathurst and clocked a time. The S class leaderboard may come in very handy along with qually and race results from previous V8 series.

Sounds great. I like how its organised over the 4 weeks but can the first 40 laps be included in the qualifying? Not much racing that first week otherwise!
lol, are you a lawyer? Each driver must run at least one stint but no more than three stints.

So 40 laps would be what, a bit over an hour and a half?
Sounds like a real challenge.

Sounds great. I'm keen for it if I get a XBONE in time.
Also, I have a killer track list for when the V8 Series kicks off
