Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel
New York, March 17, 2014 — Following up on the success of the launch of the Thrustmaster Force Feedback TX Racing Wheel, Thrustmaster is expanding its range of officially-licensed Xbox One products with the launch of a new wheel; the Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel. Featuring an official license from Ferrari as well, this replica wheel will allow even more gamers to experience the joys of racing on Xbox One.
Creating the passionate racing game drivers of tomorrow
With the Ferrari 458 Spider, Thrustmaster is making it possible for everyone to have a realistic wheel to use in racing games on Xbox One, allowing gamers to experience an unrivaled driving experience, and all of the fun and excitement racing games provide, without the need to invest time to master a Force Feedback wheel. This was an ambitous choice, but one which Thrustmaster’s development teams accomplished with absolute success, thanks to their experience and expertise in creating the Ferrari 458 Italia wheel for Xbox 360. The Ferrari 458 Spider’s ease of use, high-performance onboard technologies and aggressive pricing mean that great things are expected from this latest release from Thrustmaster.
All options are standard!
This new wheel release offers features that are not only simple to use, but also original and effective. Thrustmaster has incorporated simplicity and ease of use into this 7/10 scale replica (at 11 inches/28 cm in diameter) of the wheel on the real Ferrari 458 Spider car with all gamers in mind. The first thing any user will notice is that this is a “sports-type” wheel – GT-style. What will really catch the eye is the sleek look of the wheel, thanks to its red, textured rubber Ferrari grip. Two wheel-mounted Up and Down sequential paddle shifters, crafted of metal, add to the product’s sporty look and design.
There aren’t many options with the Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel, but that’s simply because everything that you could want already comes standard on the wheel! The wheel features nine action buttons (including “View” and “Menu” buttons), a two-position manettino dial, an ENGINE START D-pad and an Xbox Guide button. “Under the hood”, the wheel incorporates the Thrustmaster bungee cord mechanism, Thrustmaster’s patented wheel recentering system – delivering realistic linear resistance, no matter how far the wheel is turned. Featuring 240° of rotation, this system allows you to take the most efficient line on the track.
Designed to adapt to the driver
The Ferrari 458 Spider also lets users customize their wheel, which can always be adapted to meet the driver’s needs. The wheel’s steering sensitivity can be adjusted, and includes four presets – allowing users to optimize the wheel’s performance according to the type of track, the car being driven or their preferred driving styles. The pedal set, which incorporates a large foot rest, features pedals whose angle of inclination can be adjusted, and a brake pedal with progressive resistance.
Finally, the wheel includes a controller pairing LED for Kinect, along with a central clamping system which easily adapts to any type of support surface.
• The Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel will be available from April 18, 2014, at a suggested retail price of $99.99.
Am I missing the words... "Force Feedback"? Looks like an alternative to the overpriced TX wheel, I guess.

It's frign annoying, this whole migration to xbone... It's looks like a another quality product for the xbone. Anyway havn a bit of fun with iracing, but just not the same as the old days, the best I could do now is maybe have a run around the ring with Tboy in FM4, lol

This looks ok, honestly I know alot of fast guys on Forza and F1 with either no FFB on their wheel or guys with FFB wheels that always turn FFB off anyway as it tends to be 'reactive' with its feedback and always a bit (50-100ms) behind whats actuallly happening on track, so once you get used to it you are driving the delayed FFB, not the car, & it costs outright speed and reaction time, every corner.

The tight arse in me says, I like it!
The question is can you add on the new pedal set and shifter when they come available for the TX?
$100 is a great price when my dusty ol' M$ wheel cost me that. Might add more play to FM5 and get ready for PCars and FH2 later this year.

That to me sounds like an issue with the wheel itself if its genuinely lagging behind whats being transmitted. Personally haven't had that issue in a range of sims with the GT2.
Also not too sure how you'd be faster without FFB, i kinda like knowing if my wheel is on the gravel or not

Re: Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel
I'm sorely tempted for $200 just to get to race F5 again... It does have tensioning so it won't be like the old non FFB ones... Though Fanatec added new forums to Fanatec.com and posted "It has been a bit silent in the past months but we were working on a lot of things and here is the place you will find all the new info." What that means I don't know but I'll wait and see =)
Meantime it's pCars, iracing, Assetto and F1 2013 on the PC for me =)

Re: Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel
Bought one of these today. I'm pretty surprised that it's not totally horrible, of course there is no FF (doesn't bother me anyway), there's tensioning on the wheel to "simulate" FF but you hardly notice it once you start driving. The wheel itself is a bit small for my liking and you need to keep your hands at 9 and 3 if you want to be able to reach the button for clutch. That said its comfortable enough to drive. The pedals on a whole are quite small, the whole base and pedals could do with being bigger, especially of you want to use 2feet like I do, other then that the pedals are quite surprisingly good with a decent amount of resistance. I'm still able to run high break pressures without working about locking up. Overall for $200 it's defitely not bad, being a student and only working part time it was pretty much my only option. It's defitely better then the MS wheel for the 360
