The OZFM V8 Supercar Specs
First off, this is not to start a war...
Just thought as we are now getting into the new game more and more it would be nice for us "OZFM" to have a set of specs for the V8 Supercars sorted out sooner rather than later. I have noticed that there are quite a few OZFMers topping the leaderboards on Bathurst in what appears to be stock if not a little bit above stock V8s. Awesome work, and shows we may not need all the power to grab a great lap time, maybe a little bit of skill and a whole lot of practice is all that is needed.
So I create this thread in an attempt to get a general consensus around the specs we should all use. I know we are all very passionate when it comes to our V8s and I please ask you all respect each other's thoughts and ideas. The first sign of "trouble" and to the bin this thread goes... Please play nice!

Re: The OZFM V8 Supercar Specs
I would say Race Brakes should be the only upgrade to the cars. I don't see the point in putting any more power or bigger tires under the thing.

Race brakes was all we ran last night with a little tuning and they felt fine to me. Just gotta get the car to squat and find traction out of corners instead of powersliding out of every exit

I'm always keen for tyre upgrades, cars are pretty decent with just the brake upgrade though.

Re: The OZFM V8 Supercar Specs
Brakes and tyre upgrades for better handling, less wheel spin, more car control, better racing side by side, better under brakes, better traction, more overtaking opportunities, more consistency, just better imo. I think rim sizing should also be set for the entire field, if it's 17' rims as for the 2011 cars in that era that was used or 18' as they do now.

Re: The OZFM V8 Supercar Specs
My vote is just race brakes, more fun, more realistic & more rewarding to get right I reckon. Honestly I did the 766-767 pi practice thing up as I got told thats the OZFM Spec, aargh sorry just hard to know whats going on here or whom to listen to when everyone has same coloured name. Hope its all good behind the scenes.

Re: The OZFM V8 Supercar Specs
No build set in stone as far as I know... That's why I started this thread. I would like to start practicing using a build that will become the official build. Maybe there is an official build... Please let us know...
I think it is good to play around with the build and test, race in casual events... Play around some more. Once a build is finally worked out, it should be made official, just so we have some consistency. It is no use someone in a private lobby saying, oh this is the OZFM build if at maximum only 16 people know about it.
So continue the discussion, provide feedback as to the builds you are playing with and testing.
Maybe some thought from those who ran in Reapr's casual session last night may like to comment on how the car felt on different tracks.

Re: The OZFM V8 Supercar Specs
I do prefer the race brakes only. I like knowing the guy next to me could break out in wheelspin at any corner exit, keeping my fight alive or winning the duel for me haha.
766/7 pi has my vote for difficulty and reward.

Re: The OZFM V8 Supercar Specs
These cars handle so bloody good compared to FM3/FM4. They are "drivable", lol.
The real V8's run with fully adjustable brakes and the only option we have is carbon rotors on the upgrade. I vote for the the Race Brakes only.
Tyres seem fine. Plenty of grip as stock width. More wear than before so no drags.
Rims? Paintable!! No need to change them. COTF style rims? I say wait for COTF to arrive to Forza. Until then Dunlop Spec cars should do just fine.
I am not fast and I have held a lap time not too far out of the top 500 with my almost stock Holden since I started FM5. Race brakes adjusted for less lockups, stock tune with gears set to actual Bathurst settings and loving the drive.

Pretty sure they are going to have them after daylight savings ends on the east coast.

Cant see why not having a fish or not has anything to do with racing... But ok.
Waiting till April is a mistake, there a heaps of aussies keen to race them and no other forum is doing a series yet. OZFM should get in early
