Re: FM5 - OZFM GT86 Cup - Vehicle Specifications
There has been some talk about the current build of the GT86's needing to be modified.
I put it to the community, since it is, after all, going to be a perpetual OZFM Series.
I'd prefer not to change the build this close to the start date but if it's what the community want's it's what the community gets.
So i've put a poll up for you to cast you opinions.

Formula 3000 is really outdated though, as when it was discontinued and replaced with GP2, teams now all use the same chassis, engine etc. but it's still a feeder series to F1.Dektra wrote:GP3 =Formula3000
I'd like to see the 86's remain, perhaps as a support series.

Re: FM5 - OZFM GT86 Cup - Vehicle Specifications
I have an idea - Why not wait 6 weeks so you can get it set up to run after?
I honestly dont get it, seems like the same people that have been bitching that there has been no series set up on OZFM are now saying "na lets race something else" after dektra has spent the last few weeks setting this one up.
The main reason we have waited till the 14th to start it up was because of the xmas/new years break in which most poeple can not ensure there free to race every week.
Yes the cars might not be to some peoples exact liking, but the idea was to have a simple entry level series in the first place.
A series so people could get there head around racing online on OZFM without the need to tune for 3 hours every week, learning better race craft before jumping into the V8 or other higher powered cars.
The incentive of recorded best laps and a proper history of the series was added in to give it better depth and provide the veterans on here something else to aim for.
From here, depending on success, then this series would be used as a template for others to follow.

Re: FM5 - OZFM GT86 Cup - Vehicle Specifications
We have heaps of race series ideas floating around right now. The GT86's are pretty much ready to go. Once the busy Xmas holiday crap is over run it! Loving all the smaller events popping up over the Xmas break, great way to keep the community racing.
The car build... Why change it? I like the body kit as it makes the car stand out from the real series, and makes it more ours. I have driven it and could not complain about it, fun to drive.
I heard something about under-steer. Is it the rear wing that is causing the problems, could it be swapped to the other Greddy wing (the street one). Still maintains the core build with the sportier look.
The Formula Indy GP3 concept looks pretty sweet. Maybe the GT86's could be support later on or the GP3 support the 86's. We have done this with the Red vs Blue series using the MX5 as the support race and it worked well.
I am with Recoil. The 86's are a great start to FM5 online racing for the community and could be the template for future series.

For me. I don't really mind, I just thought I saw dektra mention the change of cars.
Still deciding if I have time to join up.

Looks like only 2 or 3 new guys have signed up. Make sure you guys are getting the word out on fm.net, rgl, and that other league website. Even cybergamer or the like might have some people interested in Forza league racing. This is meant to be an entry-level series after all. Good luck with it doods

This is another option i did look at. all the other wings do not add to the rear areo so the option is available if the call is made.

Feels more or less the same without being so doughey off the slow corners, but not as boring to drive as before.
To diff or not to diff?

Dropped rear tyre size to 275 and added race intake and tb, rounded out to b600 and became a little more lively. Then added diff because who's gonna know. Running low 31s road Atlanta.

Re: FM5 - OZFM GT86 Cup - Vehicle Specifications
Been driving this ^^^ in b class pub all day.
IMO: car turns and rotates nicely into corners. Out of some corners care must be taken on throttle application. Still heavily understeers at times.
Overall is still a difficult car to get the most out of. This could be attributed to the sport suspension/sway bars or could just be the nature of the beast.
