I thought it was really well written mate and highlighted some things I didn't know (no game or Bone for me)

Yes it was well written, but not really how I perceive the game or console, in fact if I was to do a review it would be a lot more positive.
Do admit there is a lot of changes but as per normal people always complain when there is change(us as humans are funny like this) and then if you change it again people complain again cause they feel your taking something away from them (go figure).
Agree some things need fixing and the game and console have the ability to be able to do this via updates.
Overall I'm happy with my console and FM5 and the other games I have. And look forward to the improvements and new content that takes time to implement into both game and console, remember what the 360 was like on launch before all the updates over 7 years??

Re: What's everyone's take on FM5?
How are we meant to be able to download older 360 games on the one?
I paid for Minecraft and State of Decay on the 360 (among other games), both are games i enjoy playing. I was under the impression that we could still use old games on the new console if you owned it.
I own those games, i want to play them.... How can you download them form the store when it will not list them

I don't think it's possible. All xbox 360 games will not work on the one. One of the reasons I will not buy one just yet.

The closest you'll get to playing them on your Bone is by having the 360 running through the back of it. I'm sure they'll revamp certain games, especially Minecraft, for the Bone and hopefully aren't son of an unmarried woman and charge people too much who already own it.

What happened to the ability to view telemetry during replays? Another feature that has been dropped for no good reason. Makes tuning bloody hard.

I thought digital downloads were supposed to work on the xbone (could be completely wrong here)

I heard the game is all about microtransactions to get the higher value cars. Is that true? Paying $100 real money for an electronic car??? What about the paid DLC. Do you have to pay again to actually own the car, or is it all about grinding for money since there is no auction house/ money from tunes/paints.

Money is easily made from racing. Rivals can also make you some good cash. The old hot lap has been replaced with a Rivals Time Attack for each class so you can make credits for hot lapping. Your Driatar will also make some cash while you are not playing. I am yet to make money from the designs as I only have one up and for a car not many will have. But once I get more up and more race with it the money should start rolling in.crimson eagle73 wrote:I heard the game is all about microtransactions to get the higher value cars. Is that true? The Tokens can be used to buy any car in the game if you have enough but tokens are bought with real money. I have 1350 tokens as part of the VIP content but may never use them. I would never spend $100 on an electronic car. I believe some have purchased more tokens so they can get a car like the Lotus F1 which would go for around $50 in real money.
DLC is the same as it always has been. Purchase, download and then buy the car in-game just like we have done since FM2.
The rewards system is integrated so you never know. That car you said you may never afford could be a gift in the near future. Plenty of credits and free cars have already been gifted out, just make sure you check and redeem your rewards.
I am happy to grind away at the racing to score coin for more cars. Had a few too many gifts of credits during FM2, 3 and 4 so enjoying the actual challenge this time around. I do kind of miss the Auction House and maybe it could make its return later or in FM6 but this is a racing game first.

I've been grinding the oval track with an Indy car with the 200tokens for 2 hours double xp , I go to free play and do about 20laps, I earn about 1,000,000cr and go up about 25levels.... Without the bonus it's about half of that

Slightly disagree. I think it's a pretty car game first, then a racing game what with no degradation in fuel and tyres.

I'll take that back then. I thought they stuck with the Forza 4 model. So you can have proper enduro races and not have to call for mandatory pits then can you?

You mean "Totally disagree"? The amount of fuel consumption and tire wear (without going into the missing details) is still so far off from where it needs to be we may as well say it's non existent.
Pretty cars> pretty places >racing game? I don't know.
Funniest thing is that it seems we all subconsciously agree its not a racing sim haha

The handling physics IMO is way better than FM4.

Re: What's everyone's take on FM5?
Let's re-write that... a racing GAME. Yes a game.Goomf wrote:surferofthemind wrote:...but this is a racing game first.

If I was after a racing simulator I would have gone for iRacing or something like that with a full rig and for a "real driving simulator" Gran Turismo would have been the go. But I went for this racing game, and loving it. Looks great, feels great, sounds great and still so easy to just jump in and drive.
I would have liked to see the FM2 tyre wear and fuel consumption but it is a whole lot better than FM3 and FM4.
Totally agree.Dazza4610 wrote:I am loving it now!

Painting seems to be slow as I have to make logos again and the racing... all the racing! Feels so good driving these cars.

Re: What's everyone's take on FM5?
Just a quick question: is it still limited to 50 laps or can you do say a full bathurst race with pits. Even getting a mate around to do a driver swap would be awesome.

The Caterham and the "Birdcage" Maserati should be good though.

Its an okay pack. Some nice road cars but needed a race car or 2 for a more complete feel.

At least there is racecars on the other console. I'd rather have them than not. Even if you can't really paint them.Dektra wrote:JamieWhincup#1 wrote:And you're surprisedDektra wrote:Second pack. Still no GT Cars...
