V8Supercar Super Sprint Cup. RESULTS

Hey guys. I'd like to put together a one night only event using V8supercars. Here's how I'd like it to go down.

THE FORMAT

2 x 4 lap sessions

Race 1, 10 laps, Grid decided by first qualifying session

Race 2, 10 laps, Reverse lobby points

Race 3, 10 laps, Grid decided by second qualifying session

Races 1 and 3 will both be set to 11 laps with an observation lap to form the grid. Race start will be a time called on the race timer after the final car has assumed it's grid position. Any jump starters shall be dobbed in anonymously to be dealt a time penalty to their total race time (at the discretion of my self).

LOBBIES

It's come to my attention that some guys may wish to run TSC, and to accommodate for these folk, I think it would be a good idea to run a second lobby. The same points structure and race format will apply. If you like run in a second lobby with tcs allowed, or just feel like racing in a more relaxed atmosphere with a casual approach, please show your expression of interest by including TCS in your post.

There will be a points structure in place, most likely one very similar to our previous v8 championship. However there will be bonus points for qualifying and the hardest charger.

Q1 and Q2 bonus points
P1: 10 points
P2: 8
P3: 6

Race 1/2/3 points
P1: 42

P3: 38
P4: 36
P5: 34
P6: 32
P7: 30
P8: 28
P9: 26
P10: 24
P11: 22
P12: 20
P13: 18
P14: 16
P15: 14
P16: 12

Hard Charger Bonus: 10 points
This will be awarded to the driver who can gain the most positions from the end of qualifying to the end of racing. More specifically, who can gain the most spots from their average qualifying to their total points score. The reverse lobby points race is not included in the average qualifying number. In the event of a tie for the hard charger award, the points shall be awarded to the driver with the higher total points score.

THE CARS

709pi V8supercars will be used for this event. The only upgrade permitted is the use of the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 wheels. Bitchcontrol and stability management will be forced off.

WHEN AND WHERE

Motegi Full Circuit
Thursday 14th November, lobby opens 8.30, action starts 9pm

So for easy reference here's when the lobby opens in your part of the world:
New Zealand - 10.30pm
Victoria/NSW - 8.30pm
South Australia - 8pm
Queensland - 7.30pm
Westerm Australia - 5.30pm  

ANYTHING ELSE

Simulation Damage
Time will be added to total race time for jump starts
As always please be up to date with the ozfm code of conduct

Benchmark E wouldn't be too bad  

Only just realised I put July in the date haha. But yeah. Benchmark E is a sick track. Reverse is pretty good too.

Can I suggest maybe running last series V8's config as most people who will want to do this will have a car and a tune ready to go? They were awesome cars. Means preparation time isn't so long.

I also thought about this Suncrossed. I feel running the v8s with the Skinner tires will see those guys who wanted to run skinny tires in the last v8 series have their justice done. :)Even if it is only one night

For the record, I voted for wide tires for the previous v8 series.

Tunes from the previous series builds should be adapted easily to the 709pi build.

There seems to have been enough interest shown since Monday so iv locked this in for the 14th, two weeks from today.

Don't forget to put your name down to save a spot, but this is a casual event, so you may also feel free to just rock up and race.

Good to see a strong number of sign ups, thanks everyone!
