Next V8 series dates?
Following on from this...
Should we start the next V8 series on Forza 4 before Xbox One is released and continue it until a couple of weeks after the Xbox One has landed?
Or should we wait until the release and do it on Forza 5?
Few other ideas I have heard thrown about: Run it after the release of Forza 5 and have a series on each console running at the same time? Or start on F4 and finish it on F5?
Let us know what YOU would like to see happen for YOUR next V8 series!!
... and from comments that several members have made in party chat...sempeR wrote:Grrrrr Sandown and Bathurst are getting me pumped for a v8 series! C'mon Stingray!

Re: Next V8 series dates?
I think there will still be some members holding back till Xmas or a cheaper price so V8's on FM4 might be best. Tuesdays seem to be pretty busy with heaps of racing happening. Is the Nationals still running on a Monday? Unsure on numbers but with the real Nationals running V8's the OZFM V8's could be run on a Monday as part of the OZFM Nationals (thoughts Clarkson??)
If a single night can not be secured why not make up some special race events that might include 2 or 3 tracks a night and run on various nights from now till FM5 release. I know it will be unfair for some but a final race can be Bathurst just after FM5 release.

For me FM4 is finished, and has been for the last month or two maybe even longer when I think about it, so you wont see me in any FM4 events now or in the future, But FM5 yeah for sure. V8's FM5 Xbox1 Bathurst Enduro.

The Nationals is still happening, I just have to pull my finger out and get stuff posted up. The next lot of cars is going to be Radicals but we could possibly mix them together.surferofthemind wrote:I think there will still be some members holding back till Xmas or a cheaper price so V8's on FM4 might be best. Well with just over 9 weeks till xbone arrives i think we should run a short series, maybe 5 or 6 rounds on Forza 4. By the time you get it up & running another 2 or 3 weeks will go by & before you no it xbone will be out. Then sometime after we all have time to play & get xbone & Forza 5 start next series. Cheers.

Re: Next V8 series dates?
A few guys have been talking about running the 711pi builds. We have a group of competitive, fast guys on the forum at the moment. Anyone who isn't running for out right wins is running better than they ever have. I think we could potentially have the highest quality series (in terms of the racing) ozfm has ever had.

Re: Next V8 series dates?
With FM3 -4 changeover we ran one right to the end and then had a last hurrah one off Event the night before F4 came out.
I agree with Semper, that if you run one now the guys who are currently racing are good and clean consistently so would make for a real treat.
Do a redo of a prior series or something for old times sake.
The big one we had at changeover time was the Pagnian Imports Hotlap R3 on Road America, still recall that comp/event, best one ever!!!
Redo that!!!!! same car same track same everything.

Re: Next V8 series dates?
I'm still happy to race in FM4 and transition to FM5 over time, not everyone is getting an X1 at launch. The transition should be a bit slower so not everyone misses out for months, we're not that mean are we?
There's that whole issue of will our wheels work with the x1 and there is no answer there at the moment, if it isn't who's getting a Thrustmaster at launch or the week after or a month later? even if Fanatec is supported if it's a dongle solution then we'll still be waiting...
+1 Semper
Teeroy's Pagnian Hotlap sounds great too.
The racing has been great the last few series and we have new blood too which would make a final V8 series a cracker I think. Last series cars would work well as well because preparation is considerably less.
