Welcome to Race Club
Welcome to Race Club.
The first rule of Race Club is: you can talk about Race Club.
The second rule of Race Club is: you MUST talk about Race Club!
Third rule of Race Club: right car, right build and livery.
Fourth rule of Race Club: if you get knocked out on the first corner, only one restart allowed.
Fifth rule of Race Club: races will be short.
Sixth rule of Race Club: if you're late you gotta wait.
Seventh rule of Race Club: if we are running late the host can stop the race.
And the eighth and final rule of Race Club: if this is your first time at Race Club, you have to Race...
Objective:
* To hold a casual race series at a time outside of our regular series schedule.
* Dust off some old series cars or build up something new that may get its own major event in the future.
* To have a bit of fun while still pushing yourself and sticking to the CoC (as best as we can, it is casual racing).
Race Club Series 01
Start 7:30pm Friday 15 Feb
Race time table:
* Race 1: A550 Improved Production Racing
* Race 2: Peugeot RCZ Cup
* Race 3: Ferrari F355 Challenge
Finish on or just after 8:30pm (in time to join signature race series)
Track:
* We may run the same circuit as the signature race series (eg: GT300)
* Or, run a variety of tracks or different versions of a single track.
Car Builds:
* A550 Improved Production Racing cars are NoRecoils builds --> Link to post below (many have raced them so you should have some cars to run)
* Peugeot RCZ based off the real series run overseas. Build --> Link to post below
* Ferrari F355 Challenge are the same as Clarksons builds --> Link to post below
Q and A wrote:
Why run so early?
* There is a handful of us that are starting to find it hard to make the later races especially when they end up starting over 30 minutes later (damn NAT issues...). Work and time zones are another reason for this. And there is a growing group that want to get a few races in before the main lobby opens.
I don't think it is right to use other members car builds...
* These cars are too good to be left to rust away. the A550 cars have been tested and were awesome. The Ferrari is a great car and deserves a run.
Do I have to run a Front Wheel Drive?
* Why not! The Pug is a great car in this build. Limited tunable parts and FWD make them easy to drive. Plus the builds are as close as we can get to the real life series.
Will you be scoring points?
* At the start no. Something to look into if it takes off.
Do I need to sign up for the series?
* No need to, just jump in but make sure you have all the cars built up.
Ok Surfer do I have to run with a special livery?
* Yes!! There will be a template available for 2 of the 3 series (Pug and Ferrari) with numberboards available for the rest. Anything goes but no tobacco and nothing explicit or offensive.
I don't have time to paint a car...
* Grab the template, add your number and just change the base colour. Team up and run the same livery.
Will you be running this on any other night?
* Right now, no. Friday to start with but if it takes off we might introduce more cars and builds and run it on more nights or over the weekends.
Feel free to discuss.

Re: Welcome to Race Club
Anyone up for a spin in these cars early Friday. Hopefully open a lobby around 7:30pm ADST (Syd, Mel, Hob) and should wrap up before 9pm for Zabbey's lobby.
Build all 3, tune what ever you can, ask me for a template (Ferrari and Pug only) then paint or just grab something off the SF and get ready for some fun racing.

Re: Welcome to Race Club
Thanks for joining in last night guys. Awesome racing.
The Pugs drive almost like the SEAT's making for some very close racing. If you haven't built one up I highly recommend you do.
For next week make sure you build up the Ferrari and as many of the IPRA A550 cars as you like. Test out a few different A550 builds to get the cars you want to run. There is no restriction other than 224Kw or higher, must weigh between 1134-1451 kg, maximum PI of A550 , any drivetrain and No adjustable Forza aero (all other body kits permitted).
The lobbies are locked down so make sure you build each car to the required specs and for the IPCA A550 car you might want to set up a private lobby with the above restrictions for testing as we know of at least one car that should fit but doesn't...

Re: Welcome to Race Club
Looks like we have a free night unless someone else wants to run a specific lobby at 9pm.
If still free we will extend to 2 or 3 hours tonight! Once I start falling asleep behind the wheel feel free to keep it going for as long as you like.
More races in Pugs, IPRA A550's and Ferrari's. Build them up, tune them and give them some colour (templates available for the Pug and Ferrari).
See you around 7:30pm AEDT. If running late feel free to drop in and join us.

Re: Welcome to Race Club
Got my A550 (focus RS). It's probably really really slow compared to whatever you guys are running. I'll be in @ or around 7.30 for about 2 hours.

Re: Welcome to Race Club
Thanks guys for the racing last night. Great to see so many join up.
Friday 8 March...
Might start with the Ferrari. Make sure you have it built and I can send out the template during the week. As I am not on all friends lists I will make sure Tasty, Zabby, Crimson and Warhawk have a copy to help me gift them out.

Re: Welcome to Race Club
Lovin the new early start. I'm not falling asleep at the wheel anymore. Maybe you can list the tracks you want to try on Friday by Wednesday or so. . I like to put a bit of practice in so I know what to expect otherwise it can get a little messy lol. Mind you that's fun as also.

Re: Welcome to Race Club
Friday's Ferrari Challenge:
Car: Ferrari F355 Challenge
Tracks: Silverstone International, Nurburg GP, Suzuka and Laguna Seca.
Time: around 7:30pm (Syd/Melb time)
Don't forget to bring your Peugeot as we might take them for a spin on some of the very short tracks after the Ferrari's.
Looks like Stu might have a lobby open around 9pm for Drift and Drag then some public lobby shenanigans so no matter what you are up for tonight we should have it covered.
