User Created Sessions - Hosted By OZFM
As some of you know i occasionally set up a room for some 'Public' races, usually A or B class but here are a few others that are quite fun.
Just got to race online and have a look in user created sessions - circuit race - and then the title. (in Bold)
A600 Muscle by OZFM
A600 cars, all old school, boat loads of power.
OZFM - V8 Supercars
Use last series spec cars (Breaks and Driveshaft the only upgrades)
Now fit 320 width Drag Tyres. (And you may need to drop the drive shaft down one)
You should end up with S700 and the room settings will be locked to suit.
Also, this setting will run with locked view and no racing line

Great way to de-tune your car to a lower class. S class V8 Supercar and #77 Cusco Subaru.STONDKIWI wrote:Boo Drag tyres
The Subaru has been a known leaderboard car in the early days of FM4. Just add drag tyres and heavy rims and down to S class it goes. Not good for the hoppers now but not a bad idea for your public lobby idea.
With no damage the tyres work pretty well and with no wear plus with all on the same setup there should be some close racing. Personally I am not a fan of locking the view and switching off the brake line for online play but as the host you set the rules.
If the S class V8's are not your cup of tea the A600 Muscle is awesome. While the race gearbox is a performance gain I prefer the sports gearbox in these beasts as it is nice to see what you can get from the 4 or 3 speed box with only the adjustable final drive.
Edit:
I hope this thread does not end up just putting down the use of drag tyres in our racing.
We have run some very successful series using drag tyres in the past and noRecoil knows how to set up a great series using them.
Keep the thread on topic please.

I have played around with them before on the V8's with some mates and have to agree with surfer.. there isnt a great deal of difrence .. maybe the more serious tuners would notice it more..
there good for the longer races as u then have to use a bit of pit strategy in the race which makes it a bit more fun and challenging..
the v8's with the drags on is what gave methe idea to use them in the driver challenge event i did some time back.. Evenryone was a bit slidy the 1st race but after a couple of laps u just sort of adapt your driving to them.. there slidy when there cold or worn out.. when there are warm that stick to the track quiet well..

Looks like i might have to dig out the old metal case again. Seems i have been neglecting the racing branch of my addictive personality lately. I should be on this weekend so will have a gander and come for a run
