Re: GT300 and GT500 Multi Class R2 and R3
Hi, welcome to the forum, quite the introduction you have made for yourself too. Oh well, whats done is done.
We are already doing a GT 500 series at the moment its on Friday nights. Also, usually new guys at least compete in a series on here before just setting up their own new series, as all our series are pretty tightly regulated & they all abide to the same Code of Conduct that all our members agree to adhere to. This gives us a chance to see how you race etc & etiquete etc on track so everyone knows what to expect from a new member. Talk's cheap, actions on the track speak louder than words, so to speak ...
Assists are optional, all the top guys run no TCS ABS etc & some no B/L (yes shock horror many, many other really fast Aussie guys use no assists too, & have done so for a long long time) although as mentioned B/L has always been run in our series as a backup reference point on the way into a braking zone, not as an individual assist as such, only a backup..
Lets be clear though, people using B/L people aren't slower/less skilled, we have tried this many many times (including when new guys jump on here & say, "i'm better" because I use no braking line").
A braking reference marker on the track is as easy to brake at as a red (& often wrong) braking line, its just that in series racing on some tracks its easy for cars battling etc to wipe out the braking markers & then we have the problem of someone close to another person's butt in the braking zone having no reference point & accidentally hitting the car in front as a result. Hence why we use the braking line.
To argue against it in a racing situation is to argue that guys in real life look out a tv sized box on their windscreen with the rest of the car windows blacked out & then that they base their braking references on that, it just doesn't happen.
So I'd suggest jumping in those existing GT races (tonight & each friday) if you like racing those cars, & while you are at it, remember that just as you have your opinions about how you like to drive Forza , SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE, & many would for example think it comical that you are so adamant about no assists when you ARE using an assist, a controller. Only a steering wheel has no steering assist built into it, a controller gives steering assist all through the corner, even with sim steering on. But be that as it may, those people have the decency to keep those opinions to themselves as they recognise it for what it is.....JUST THEIR INDIVIDUAL OPINION....& they see that to put others down just because they are using something different to themselves is just arrogant & derogatory.
To clarify.... I normally run a controller with sim steering on & every assist off but I race series etc here with Braking line on. I can go just as fast on a lap with Braking line off as I can with it on. I also have a wheel & can go just as fast with the wheel as I can with the controller, so I think I am qualified to make the statements I have. Anyone here will back up what I have said as they have all seen me in action many many times on Forza 2,3 & 4 & know that I don't BS about stuff to just make myself look good.
So if you are serious about getting involved here then jump into some races & let your racing do the talking, as the rest of us have. If you deserve praise, trust me you will get it, but don't just jump on here having raced practically none of us (well a only few of us, yes I remember the S class lobby we raced in & I remember clearly being as fast as your leaderboard F50 Ferrari on Road America etc in my piece of crap muck around S class SLR Mercedes that I had made 5 minutes before jumping in your lobby. I also remember you saying to everyone that your F50 wasn't leaderboard..........errrrmmm wrong!) & start telling us how friggn great you THINK you are & how people can't drive unless they drive EXACTLY how you do.
Its just not a good attitude to have. Confidence is good, arrogance is not.
So I'd suggest maybe jumping in something on here (series/event wise) first & get a feel for what we are about/ & we can vice versa etc...

Re: GT300 and GT500 Multi Class R2 and R3
We're already running a GT500, And I have things sorted out for a GT300. The GT300 features FIAGT3/GT2 cars aswell and they are not paritive in game. It is not a "REAL" racing experence if it does not feature these cars aswell. so unless you'e willing to put the time in to make them parative. don't bother. You should be putting things together before you chuck them up on here. otherwise you're just wasting seer space.

Re: GT300 and GT500 Multi Class R2 and R3
I reckon you idea has merit. But please jump into tonight's race. I reckon it will be right up your alley. Nurb GP followed by 5 laps of the ring in a GT500.
Next I would suggest for you to put in the time to get a general licence then set up your event.
Pick one track. One day. Have qualifying. Only the fastest 8 get to race and make it a general licence event only. Make it a pro event. No assists. No Brake line. But please leave the viewpoint and normal steering unlocked or you will find youself with no one else to race with. That's my suggestion.
I'm not sure about brake line myself. I know it helps you familiarise yourself with a new track and I tend to use it when I race with others, but once you're up to speed, I get the feeling it is a little bit of a hinderance and maybe even a few accidents are caused by people looking for a mark on the road and not watching those around them.

It's okay mate. You are a bloody quick racer, as are quite a few of the guys on here. Actually I'd go as far to say that some of these guys could go toe to toe with anyone in the world.
But that's only half the equation: You need race craft. It's not all about speed. I found when I joined I had to learn when and how to pass and how to avoid others. And If I didn't get an opportunity to pass, well so be it.
For me It's far more fun coming in 6-7 and having a really great race with guys that are my standard (Pretty low compared to the likes of you) than coming first by diving into corners and smashing people as I accelerate away.
Learn this and with your pace you should always be mixing it with the leaders regardless

Re: GT300 and GT500 Multi Class R2 and R3
We're not unreasonable people, you just gotta lose that air of superiority and expectation that we're gonna race as though its the actual thing. We play for fun, gets serious from time to time but ultimately its simply for fun. Sure we all have our bitch fights with each other from time to time, but for the most part we get over it, since whats the point?
You also gotta use your mic. We're not psychic, we don't know all the time if someones trying to make a dive, and the GT-R doesn't have a rear view mirror in in car view, so you gotta speak up, and apologize when making contact that was easily avoided (Kiwis been doing that a lot lately ).
Just chillax, get to know us and you'll have some fun. You're quick, but we've got some of the best people in Aus on these boards. Just give a little respect to those who have been racing with OZFM for a rather long time, ok?
