Here's a tip: you can lower the difficulty. At the lowest level I can keep pace with the leaders.

Yeah, but even then one mistake and you're stuffed.

That's what I like about it. Stuff Arcade. Put her on full sim damage and grow a set.

Just purchased it off an ebay store for about $40. Now I got 4 games to alternate with
Forza 4, Horizon, Fifa 13 and now WRC 3 lol I have officially got no life.

I'm keen to get this but I'm not sure if I should get it on PC or Xbox.

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
Nice video Man. I absolutely love what they do with the rain in England. Best looking rain I have ever seen.
I have been playing the demo a fair bit today and I am getting used to the handling. Sliding around. Has anyone ever played Richard Burns. Dirt seemed a little too arcady for me. I don't mind hard games. But because the course can at times be brutal in this game. I'm willing to bet most people will think this is too hard core for them . Not only does it take time to get the wheel settings right, but the hardest part of the game: your greatest opponent, is most definitely the courses. I doubt this is going to sell all that well, but if you're hard core and stick at it. I can see this thing becoming very addictive. I can't wait until my copy comes in on 13th Oct or so.

Do you play with a wheel or controller? I was thinking of setting my shifter to be the hand brake and driving in automatic.

GT2 Wheel. I'm using the clutch for the e brake. For some reason it works well for me. Just got horizon though so I don't know when I'm gonna get to play this again lol

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
Okay.... here is my mini review.
This thing makes dirt look like arcade garbage. It is a reasonably good game. And right up the sim players alley, but the learning curve is higher than Mount Everest.
Unlike the first two, there is no tutorials. only free play.
Great graphics. And when you get into a flow, it is very rewarding. Good sounds. Superb handling. But this feels like 3/4 of a Triple A title. You can only play cars that you unlock in career mode. I still have not figured out how to use the ghosts yet.
Multiplayer is a bit on a no go for me. Hardly anyone playing. But rally games are not really for multiplayer.
The best (if you've got a PC that can handle it) is to get it on PC and hook up a wheel. They have already improved the advanced handling to the stage where it is almost indistinguishable from Richard Burns Rally. It is done by a group of PC modders so it is unlikely to ever reach the box.
Not that it is needed.
You can change liveries but it is no where near as complex as Forza. It's also based on leveling up in the career mode.
It's a no thrills racing title. If you crave the steep learning curve and stick with it long enough, you are rewarded with something that leave Dirt for dead. But if you don't have the time to learn the nuances, then stay away from this title.

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
Gave it a bit more of a bash tonight. Getting used to the handling. Boy this is fun. I am now coming second in the Spanish rally. Forget free play though. Career mode is where everything is at. All the cars/tracks. Good for practice. I also love how you can choose what bits you want repaired after the stages. Each bit costs time and you only have a limited amount of time for repairs at the end of each stage. Lets say your aero and brakes are shot. You can repair either one or the other but not both. So there is a reward/risk type set up going on. You can go flat out and take lots of risks and hitting stuff, but then you need more time for repairs or you're forced to go out onto the next stage with a partly broken car, or you can take it easy and look after the car through the whole rally and maybe even get first cause everyone else has damage.... Best damage system I have seen in a game bar none. I'll probably be playing a fair bit now that I have the hang of it between Forza 4/Horizon and Fifa 13 lol

Sounds great Crimson - love that damage idea as it really challenges you to make management decisions and to drive well.
Might have to check it out sometime.
