WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
I have played and enjoyed Dirt series and came across this review of WRC 3. Looks ok!
Was getting a bit disappointed with Dirt and all the "extra" stuff like smash up derbies etc. So it is good to see this seems to be sticking to Rally. Might go find myself a copy of WRC 2.

Yo, If you can grab WRC2. You should be able to get it for about $20.
I quite like it, But have no one to play with

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
I'm thinking of getting it on PC lol Dazza. Forza is the one and only king of the racing games on the box. But if the wife wants to watch something on the telli and the kids are using the other tv. I can hook the GT2 up and either play pCars or this depending on what mood i'm in.

Just fired up the Xbox with the original wrc 2010. The game settings really suck with the gt2. Plus the feedback and throttle seem really buggy. Now I'm convinced the pc is the way to go until they fix the wheel issues for good.

Some bad news. This title is slated for release only in Europe and the Stats according to my local game shop. No Aussie release. EB games do not stock it. Mighty Ape have it though.

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
Settings need to be adjusted to the max, but had a bit of a play around with it and it's quite fun. Feedback is probably one of the best. It'll take many hours of practice to get any good though. It is really hard core . Found myself coming off a lot.
I reckon we should hit the fanatec site in a couple of weeks to see what sort of settings work well with it

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
Ok, first up Cons:
The Force Feedback was really hard to get right with my GT2 wheel. I ended up setting the FF In-Game to 3-clicks up from Zero and the FF In-Wheel to 80. At 100/100 the wheel is pretty much locked in place and needs a huge amount of force to turn. Rotation 540 but it could probably go a bit lower. You definitely do not want to set it any higher.
Graphics, although much better than the previous two games they are still a bit shit. Low frame rate (30fps I'm guessing) doesn't help either.
Sound, very shit. We are spoilt by Forza but the sound in WRC3 is even worse than GT5.
Sluggish menus, I found myself pressing buttons multiple times because I could not tell if my button presses were registering.
No Audi Sport Quattro (looked at the car list and it wasn't there) but I bet it's DLC.
And some Pros:
Physics felt fine.
Tracks, the demo track is nice and narrow unlike the off-road highways found in Dirt3 and is quite tricky to navigate without damaging the bodywork.
Cockpit view is really good. Great field of view, not too cluttered etc.
Road to Glory mode looks interesting.
Looks like there will be a reasonable amount of tuning options in the full game.

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
My CSP throttle was playing up last night (needed to give it a clean and tighten up the sensor) so I'm going to give this another crack. I thought something felt weird the last few times racing. The throttle would drop out intermittently at about half pressure. I just thought I was in the wrong gear! lol

Re: WRC 3 - World Rally Championship 3
Reminds me of the old colin mcrea. Now I'm used to the handling and sorted out the sen. (about 300-400) and lowered the FFB (man it's an arm killer at 100) my times are dropping. Still finish 25th lol but at least it's only by 20 sec or so and not 120 sec. Loving the long stages and elevation changes. Urinates all over Dirt. I could def find myself buying this some time in the future.

Here's a tip: you can lower the difficulty. At the lowest level I can keep pace with the leaders.
