Interest in Beaters Series
Tasty and I had an idea for a casual race series.
BOMBS!
Cars will be restricted to:
D Class (300 ish)
Less than 15,000 Credits to purchase
Nothing post year 2000
Only one of each car will be allowed,
So when we post the list up of eligible cars (If the series gets enough interest) It is first in, first served.
Modification Lists
Racing Breaks
Maximum allowed Weight Reduction
All other upgrades will be power after this (To bring it to D class)
Tasty and Dektra will make all the cars and gift with locked tuning setups (This is to avoid questions about eligibility). In the interest of the series please do not edit these setups.
Remember these are bombs, We're making it as close to a scrapyard scenario as possible.
[Another possibility is:
Car list is posted up, Cars may be chosen from the list (One car of each type as above) and be brought up to D350 with mod restrictions as follows
ANY POWER MODS
Race Breaks (20% Break Pressure)*
Maximum allowable Weight Reduction*
NO OTHER HANDLING MODS
NO DRIVELINE/TRANNY MODS
NO WHEEL MODS
NO AERO
MUST STAY AS STOCK DRIVETYPE
* must be done first]

Re: Interest in Beaters Series
I did something similar in F3 where you had up to $10 000 to spend on your car.
Only issue i can see in F4 is that you get fee parts and a massive discount for the cars depending on your driver level

Re: Interest in Beaters Series
Thinking we may do this as a casual race series over 2 weeks, with races taking place every night from 7:30 to 8:30 (to avoid other, more serious, race series') If this were to happen people could pick and choose what night they wished to partake so as not to disrupt their other commitments.

Re: Interest in Beaters Series
I'd be keen on a casual series that was easy to jump in and out of... even the EVO vs WRX is a bit serious.
- maybe there is no points table, is just for fun race?
- perhaps personal parity system somehow where more
- maybe some shorter races, I'd be keen to be able to get a few races in about half hour rather and 3 in one hour, it its a casual setup and races are short then it is always easy to run a few bonus races if people are feeling keen?

er not sure where the end of the sentence went - oh I think I forgot to write it.
Maybe an optional performance adjustment in casual race where drivers choose slower cars to make the racing closer/more of a challenge.
eg.
newbies / novice skilled drivers might can choose cars tuned D340-350
casual / intermediate drivers can choose use D320-330
hard core / expert drivers choose something like D300-310
the PI brackets could be more strict or more relaxed depending on results, if there were a points table so extra multiplier or bonus could be added for driving lower rated cars. However the reward for the driver would be satisfaction of the fun competitive race and the respect of the other awestruck drivers of less skills

Mmm not too sure about that one. Prefer a level playing field.

Very hard to impose a PI limit especially when you are already in the lobby like straight after qualifying. The drivers will either need to pre-qualify to get the right build or have all 3 PI ranges built and tuned for their chosen car before they race.
You could use the power handicaps available in the lobby set-up. I know while testing the GT cars in S class that 5% can take around half to a full second of a lap (depending on the track). You can set up Player Groups in the lobby with varying handicaps like 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% power loss. Just make sure you save the lobby set-up so you can quickly load it on race night.

Re: Interest in Beaters Series
yeh, my I was thinking to be pre-qualified : probably just look at the leaderboards for the Rivals-Spec HotLaps (stock untuned cars)... I am usually about 50% in the club ranking so I would go around D325...
but is only a suggestion, the PI gaps might be all wrong, it would only take one or two really good drivers to jump in D350 cars and trample the field to take the fun out of it. which is likely to happen to some extent in all the other races already
The lobby set-up solution with player groups with handicaps sounds like it might be cool. This might be really fun if it is easy to run a set of short(ish) races and have drivers who win early race slide into less competitive group for later race and change the race dynamic
