Re: ATCC - Testers needed
Great seeing a new series getting thought of and formed, but think I've mentioned this somewhere else once upon a time...
But why 520 pi??? the game is new and be great if we could run full spec cars for a number of reasons,I understand later in the game of FM4 sure lowering PI and looking for different series structures might work but it's still early days,
Firstly it would allow more comparable times on the FM4 LB, actually be able to use the car built n tuned in other online races and public lobbies while not wasting thousands of credits to build a car that will only ever be driven for one series, It might mean less cars per series to give a more even spread of cars at full spec PI. Full spec cars could be sold in AH, SF and OZFM garage earning credits for those who built them and the car club.
Anyways as said its great to see series be devolped and run and thank those involved for doing so, just putting my thoughts on lower PI spec races so early on in FM4.

I would have to agree Sleuth...
That said, does the R32 stay AWD? Would be a shame to cut godzilla in half.

May not be just about the money. It would be nice if people buying tunes etc from the SF thought. "Oh this is from OZFM so it must be good".

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
I run the "odd" Pi for a number of reasons.
You know its the right car, people cant pull swifty's and load tunes from the Storefront or accidental run the wrong tune.
At the moment, if i drop it to B500 class then there is no point having the GT-R (that will stay AWD) on there. If i Go to A class then some of the other cars might not go that high without aspiration changes (need to check).
But if i went to A600, then the tyres would have to be Race, not sport. But i'd still be stuck with potential storefront/wrongly loaded tunes.
And if i open it to 600 then it just gives an open ticket to "go stupid" whilst at 520 it makes people think about where they want to spend there PI.
With the exception of the Honda, all the cars represent cars that were used in the real ATCC. Even then it could be a Nissan Exa.
When the series finishes it doesn't take much to put the PI up or down on the tuned chassis, so its hardly an issue.
There is method in my madness, it's worked for close racing before.

wed hope all ozfm tunes were awesome but we all know tunes need to cater the drivers style not just having a quick car, but there are some cars that automatically standout

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
I so want to be involved in this but tuning *shudder* lol. Im not the most mechanically minded individual out there. i just enjoy strapping in to a ford v8. turning up the volume. and going full tilt.
But hey Id love to learn :-)

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
I think people should be able to use SF tunes. What if you have no idea what you are doing and as a last resort you need to buy a tune. I am sure this happens in real life, where racing teams buy the engineer that has proven their worth. I do except some of your other reasons NoRecoil.
Although, I would have to say the way Reapr selected the cars for the Street Sedans was great, different PIs and yet very closely matched cars.
At the end of the day, it is your series mate, set it up how you like and they will come.
PS, I want the R32. Love that car, I dont even care if it is competitive, I just love driving it. I have used it throught out most of my World Tour.

Have to agree 100% with the notion that a tune needs to cater to the drivers style.

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
Would also jump on the band wagon of maxing cars out in B or A class.
Personally at this stage of the game i'm just not interested in driving around half built cars.
+ with all the new guys there's gonna be alot of people that struggle getting the best out of them.

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
+1 for A600, lets get some of those old cars up on the LBs.
NoRecoil, do you need any cash to buy these cars and test upgrading to A600. I am sure we could whip the hat around.

Can't add much to the car spec discussion, but I'm more than willing to helpl test from a 'no idea' type tuner.

no offence recoil has always run his series like this and there are enough nuts on ozfm to help the lesser tuners out

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
Could look at doing them both ways - But i can already see a "I didn't realise" half arse excuse when someone rocks up with a SF tune with a Centrifugal Supercharger or 4WD conversion mid series.....
Honestly im dead against it, after all you guys won't have to deal with the fallout for when it happens.
Buying SF tunes doesn't teach you anything.
You have to start somewhere, lower classes are easier to learn how to tune in.

Totally agree with the first two points. And for some reason I really enjoy racing in these series that don't have maxed out PI and it makes for much closer racing having all cars with the same upgrades available. Depending on when this series eventually runs I'll most likely take part.
As for the third point, some of us, me at any rate, are not budding engineers, mechanics or whatever and don't play Forza to learn the finer points of tuning. I don't think buying SF tunes is appropriate for OZFM series but there's certainly nothing wrong with it the rest of the time. For OZFM series' there is plenty help around on the forums in any case.

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
Sounds great. I think 520PI is fine. Some cars obviously won't be as competitive as others if we did max them out. My Merc 190E is probably a good example. I can barely get it to go to 650, so 520 is fine. 635 CSI looks like it might be interesting, supras and r32's as well. Don't exactly have all the time in the world to be tuning though. If I get an invite I'll get involved.

Re: ATCC - Testers needed
A600 is not necessary. After last night runiing around in A520 spec the racing pretty was damn close.
I think A600 would potentially ruin it.
