Results & pics from 2nd OZFM Off-Street Drag & Burnout Comp!!

2nd OZFM Off-Street Drag race & Burnout comp results 31st August

Well the 2nd OZFM Wednesday night off-street drags and we had a couple new racers ready to hit the strip.
We started a little late to organise last minute tunes for people to run.

Here are the entrants-

Here are the results of our 2nd race. We will start the season shortly once we have a few more people, for now we will just run a few more practices.

AGRO came out the box hard and hit his dial in on his first 2 runs, I struggled yet again with HYPDUP and had only 1 good pass in which i broke out by .003 Ouch!!
I think i may swap out the engine in the Dato over the next week and put in the SR20 instead of the V6.

GOWIE and MINI both come out hard in the 1st heat with GOWIE going just .009 slower than his index which was enough to hold out MINI. MINI was having a good run and was the most consistant driver of the night. Good stuff buddy. GOWIE still getting used to his car and being his 1st ever Drag tourney broke out in a big way twice.

CDS Sir Waffelz was given a Bye into the 2nd round.

Both these guys are new to the league with newly tuned car s that i helped them out with. Waffelz only got his tune 5 minutes before the racing started so he didnt have a chance to set an acurate dial in but from the numbers im thinking he should go with 10.544 next race.
It was GOWIE's race again hitting some good times and saving his best for last with a 10.513 just .013 off his dial in.

xPPRTxAGROV8x recieved a bye into the final by hitting his dial in in the 1st round.

Its the final race and both races battle it out to the end. AGRO started out too agressive on his launches breaking out in the 1st 2 runs with GOWIE just .030 of his dial in.
3rd heat AGRO gets a .034 off his dial but its still not enough.
4th heat AGRO closes hits back and runs .017 off his dial to take the lead.
5th and final heat and GOWIE in his 1st ever drag tourney shuts down the seasoned pro running just .013 off his index.

We also held our first Burnout Comp

We had a winner for most % of tyre wear in a 5 minute period and also a winner for best burnout style (we dont want people just sitting in one spot doing a line locker)

Word is AGRO has been tuning a few cars since last night that will blow the tyres within th 5 minute time limit. next weeks event should be fun.

Yeah that was the 1st one i've ever done. it was a heap of fun. Teeroy gave us the idea.

Was a great event, tight racing and then no traction hp, who could ask for anything more lol. Cant wait til the next burnout session though, I have a couple of monsters in my garage waiting to be let loose haha.
