This has got to be crap...
http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/worlds-greatest-hypercar-hoax-20110829-1jhw3.html
"German company RSC says it is working on a hypercar that has a claimed 0-600km/h time – yes, 600km/h – of 7.0 seconds. It can also apparently get to 300 km/h in the same amount of time it takes a Nissan GT-R or Porsche 911 Turbo S to get to 100km/h."

Re: 2089kW of power, 3494Nm of torque and 0-600km/h in 7sec!
haha, love some of the comments:
----
To get to 100km/hr in 0.9 seconds would take an acceleration of 30.9 metres per second squared (3.2g). For a 1000kg car this is a launch force of 30,900 Newtons. For a slick tyre in the dry the maximum friction factor is 0.9. The maximum launch force available for a 1000kg car on slick tyres in the dry is about 0.9*1000*9.81 = 8829 Newtons. The fastest 0-100km/h time for this 1000kg car is therefore 3.2 seconds. It would have to weigh nearly 3500kg to accelerate to 100km/hr in 0.9 seconds. Try going around a corner in that tank.
----
though I think he's not allowing for differences in tyre size and compound. Then:
----
A Top fuel dragster needs about 8000hp (~5900kW) to accelerate to 500kph in around 5 seconds. This car will take just two more seconds to go 100kph faster??? At 1/3rd the power to push that all that air???
Sure this article / promo didn't orginate around early April maybe?
With acceleration like that, imagine just trying to back it out of the driveway, without ending up in the neighbour across the road's front yard.

I'm not saying that OD's not smart, but wasn't he quoting some of the comments?

Frank's correct, as I originally stated:
love some of the comments:
My contribution was that I think he's failing to take into account variations in tyre size and compound.
ie he assumes the car is using a standard slick with a friction factor of 0.9.

Yep my Crap o Meter has gone off the chart reading those claims!
OD's got the maths there to prove it too nice proofreading OD!

It does sound ridiculous. The tyre physics have already been explained, and even if it does do 0-100 in 3.2 seconds, it's not getting to 600km/h in a further four seconds. So, a rocket with wheels and a cockpit big enough for a midget?

I remember this ages ago, i think they actually built a proto, with less power unsurprisingly, unless its that super special 911 i'm thinking about...
Either way, yeah, complete bull, good luck putting that power on the ground...

It's not a hoax, purely because Germans don't have a sense of humour
Nah seriously that would tear the tyres to shreds, it would spin the Earth the other way with that much torque :S

Here's the link for the Manufacturer's specification page:
Rotary Supercars
It looks like the claim of 0-600 in 7 seconds has been ammended to 0-500 in the same time.
