Re: New Tracks in Forza 4
Maple ain't that bad, its one of the only fictional tracks that doesn't bring about a sigh of disdain. They just need to be more imaginative, Camino was terrible, and don't get me started on the awesome GT fictional tracks...
And on the subject of the Hockenheim, i KNEW the version i played in Grand Prix 3 was by far longer and more fun.

Haha Do you really hate it that much fez? Mmm fair enough. I love maple valley its always been a favourite of mine. Also I was impressed with camino so I like everything theyve been doing trackwise. Sebring can piss off and so can sidewinder, dont need them.

I'd say keep Sebring and sidewinder and get rid of maple But then again they could get rid of all three for Bathurst, Philip Island and Winton or Eastern CreekMike0707 wrote:Haha Do you really hate it that much fez? They need to work on their environmental design with the fantasy tracks. Most of them feel like you are closed in this fake little world. Some of the fantasy tracks in GT5 feel like part of a much bigger world.
I think they have the right idea with the Bernese Alps track as they developed a whole history and back story for the track before creating it. It looks much better than any made up track in Forza 3.

Honestly, i never liked Sebring and no one uses Sidewinder...
Apricot Hill, Grand Valley Speedway, Trial Mountain...man those tracks are epicly epic. I dunno why, but they just stick as some of the best fictional tracks ever made.

Re: New Tracks in Forza 4
Yeah I'd happily trade all the fantasy tracks for just one good Aussie track.
The thing I like is driving a track that I can see in real life or watch people race on TV. It adds a lot to appreciation of what the drivers are doing.
For this reason I really love F1 2010/11 because mostly they are great tracks and also because watching a race after you've done a few laps on the same circuit at the same speeds really adds to the experience.

There's been some new screenies of Indianapolis and Infineon leaked from somebody who aparently did 3D modeling and bug finding for the tracks over here
EDIT: I think the artist involved has been given the hard word, and the images have been removed... But there are a couple of them on FM.net forums

Re: New Tracks in Forza 4
nice work frank.
Infineon Raceway:
Indianapolis:
And some are questioning the inclusion of Top Gears best road pass in the world being included.
"The Stelvio Pass? It (or something like it) is in the background of that screenshot they put out of the classic Aston Martin awhile back. Pretty sure that's not the Alps track, it sure looks like the roads at the base of Stelvio to me. Or is that just going to be a homespace background and that's it? Sure hope that it's in the game and driveable. While racing on it would be interesting to say the least, doing time trials would be absolutely awesome."

i really like both these tracks. true hardly anyone uses Sidewinder but isn't it DLC anyway in FM3 (can't remember) it's like the ultimate testing track for me, it has plenty of everything. and i like Sebring's character and technical style. kind of like your racing in some 'out west' small town track. i'm also hoping for a DLC release of leftover FM1 tracks. they might satisfy your GT fetish
and i'm a big fan of FM's fantasy tracks. they feel good technically (frustrating but sooo good when you get it right) to the point they seem like real life tracks, so i guess it's just personal preference really.

Re: New Tracks in Forza 4
and thanks for the picks and vids people. nice to see Turn 10 is at least keeping up to their standard of very detailed track scenery. this will be a boon to the Forza photographers out there. and i noticed some of the stills have a very high elevation. i hope it means they moved the camera ceiling higher, and now fingers crossed for a decent helicopter replay camera..

Re: New Tracks in Forza 4
Like those images, one of the things that bugged me in FM4, everything was just too unnaturally bright for me. And yes, that mountain track does look like that one TG likes.
I dunno, theres something about Sebring i just don't like, too flat for me, if you catch my drift. Like that sharp right hander at the end of the second straight, i just hate it.
Sidewinder was DLC, but was standard on LCE editions, which i happened to get (and promptly lost the USB that came with it much to my displeasure).

Re: New Tracks in Forza 4
Some hate Sebring. Others hate Maple... i guess each drivers preferences are different. Personally i would take Sebring over Maple any day due to the fact that you can actually go to Sebring and watch a race, It's just not the same with made up tracks.
With fake tracks there's No real history. There has been no great battle between two rival drivers, No blood spilled... for me these tracks lack not only a soul, but stories and memories fans talk about years after a race has been run.

Totally agree as well. Would take a bad real track over a good fantasy track any day.
